Noticed this place as I parked outside whilst visiting a relative in the hospital. The place itself is just a short walk from the hospital and the decor, ambiance and friendly service make it a true oasis in which to take a break from the hospital environment! A warm friendly greeting and efficient service was appreciated. The price and value for the food and drinks I’d describe as good. I will certainly be returning any time I am visiting the hospital!

Absolutely awful food. Visited The Gates when it was first opened after being taken over from the previous owner when it was named The Allotment. Went for lunch with my partner and had a Tuna salad sandwich each. Could have made it better myself at home. Cheap supermarket own brand bread and very thin with cheap tasting Tuna. Unappetising and unpleasant. Never returned until yesterday for breakfast for Mother's Day. Ordered a bacon sandwich but it was called Butty" which I instantly thought cringe! With thick cut bread. My eye thick cut. Again cheap thin cut supermarket bread. The bacon

Just spent a lovely Sunday morning, having a bacon toast and a cuppa with M and Izzy, brilliant.
