Plas Rhosnesni Care Home

My mum was here 11/12 years ago, the worst decision I’ve ever made. Was told she only needed prompting to eat her meals however she had lost understanding and sat staring at a plate of food. When i told staff this, that her food was cold I was told well at least she had had a big lunch and the plate was taken away. One time I visited and mum had a black eye, they said she had tripped the day before as the fire alarm scared her and when I went to hug her she winced, her shoulder was black and bruised. Whilst she was in hospital, she took ill whilst there and they didn’t really bother getting her to hospital in any rush we decided to move her from there but sadly she passed away. A week later we received a letter saying there was an investigation due to a resident falling to their death from a window. Googling the home there was also a death from negligence some years earlier.

This experience of having my husband at Plas Rhosnesni was an awful experience. The food was dreadful and high sugared meals and snacks. Having gained so much weight and lacking mobility due to the lack of activities. They never took them out to the back court yard for any fresh air. The garden space was more for the use of their staff to go and smoke. The carers never brushed my husbands teeth before going to be. Due to this his Teeth have all rotted and now he requires surgical operation to have his teeth removed. The level of care and management was poor. My husband is now back home where is well looked after. Plas Rhosnesni is now under a new team of Managers. After the report of abuse which a criminal investigation was carried out by Wrexham police dpt. Unfortunately no criminal action was taken, from lack of evidence. The carer was dismissed and no longer works there. The awful Manager 'Lisa' has also thankfully left. She was more concerned about her job, than the well being of the elderly residents. Awful lady!!! Pls monitor any loved ones care and dignity if placed here. I know the new Management will review past mistakes. I hope no other family experiences the nightmare which they placed on myself and my husband with his Alzeimer's. He was in poor health when i brought him home in January 2020. He is now full safe and well looked after. which is something Plas Rhosnesni failed him.

Avoid at all costs, treat staff and patients disgustingly in particular a male nurse called Dan, grot hole of a place

Patients here including my father are treated with dignity, kindness, compassion, courtesy, respect , understanding and honesty. The staff really do provide a great quality of care to their residents. The staff are amazing, so friendly and helpful. Lovely atmosphere! High standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the home!
