Cookery School at Little Portland Street

I left stuffed to the gills on this fish cooking course. Absolutely a joy learning about how to cook different kinds of fish and various different sauces. Loved it - and John the instructor was so engaging.

I attended the knife skills course and learnt so much! From millimetre dicing to filleting a plaice. The chef then cooked all the ingredients we prepped into a delicious lunch!

As a recent convert to home cooking and a true novice; I am eternally grateful to the Cookery School in Little Portland Street for equipping me with skills and techniques to prepare tasty dishes from scratch.I can’t believe that I have made several of these dishes. In groups and pairs we learn new recipes, through demos (visual learning is my preferred learning method!),then provided with all the ingredients, recipe cards and quality equipment we replicate some of the dishes Better still we get to enjoy the fruits of our labour together with all class attendees at the end of the session it is a team bonding experience

Took the absolute beginners classI had been thinking about taking a cooking class for a while: i can only cook very basic things at home but it's not so tasty :DI was hesitating a little bit as I was thinking why not just watch videos on YouTube or similarI'm so happy I went for it!!The emphasis is really on the core techniques/concepts rather than just executing recipes one after the other. As a result I feel confident to try and recreate various dishes that belong to the various categories covered (ie soups, stews, making bread and more) I don't expect it'll be perfect on first try, but as I understood the concepts I expect I'll be able to critique my own dishes and further tweak them/make adjustments etcWe go through quite a few recipes that allow to practice various techniques from how to properly use a knife, taste & season, making sauces, figuring out the order with which to cook things, telling when something is cooked etc.The teachers are amazing, communicate clearly, come to observe you and give you tips etcWill definitely come back for more classes in the future once I have time to absorb this new knowledge & practice

An absolutely fantastic session - I did the one day Spanish home cooking lesson and learnt so much. The recipes were easy to follow and John did a wonderful job of explaining everything. I learnt so many new skills and the food tasted amazing. So lovely to sit down with a glass of wine at the end and enjoy the product of my labours!
