Medieval moated enclosure
The moat is slightly further down the road leading towards rhostyllen and off to the right than is shown on the map, there is a small layby with a stile leading into a field once you have climbed over the first stile you will then need to go over the second stile into the wooded area follow the path for approximately 100 meters and the turn right go over the stile into the field walk about 50 meters to your left and the moat is in the wooded area on your left. What a little hidden gem,you can still clearly see the moat and there appears to be a small portion of a wall remaining. If you want to actually get into the moated area you need to hop over a fence but you can get a reasonably good view off the footpath. The moat is quite boggy so a good pair of wellies are recommended. I have tried to do a little research on the site but have been unable to find a great deal of information so If you like a little mystery in your history then it is definitely worth going to have a look.
