We tend to go here fairly regularly - its local and a nice place to go for a drink - and we sometimes go with our two children.The food has improved tonnes since the new chefs came in.The atmosphere is generally good but come 8 o'clock - one hour before closing, the bleach comes out and the staff start tidying up making you feel like you have to hurry up as they want to close. The smell of the bleach way before closing time the last two times I've been is ridiculous. The staff seem to just want to go home.I've noticed they aren't particularly child friendly either. We went a few months ago when it was quiet. The bar was empty so we let our daughter go and ask for a glass of water. She made the HUGE mistake of taking her muffin with her and was told off as she 'might get crumbs on the floor'. Would they shout at a golfer for spilling a drink? Unlikely. I've also witnessed them tell children off / their parents for walking around - not menacingly or getting in the way of people - just walking around their table.This place could be an absolute goldmine and the place to be around Lostock as there aren't many places around where you can take kids and dogs.HOWEVER:1.They need to be a little bit friendlier and accommodating to children - this would benefit them massively as I know a few people who have had a similar experience and been put off going. A bit more family friendly and the place would be packed out on weekend nights with family dining. What's the point in expanding if you are driving people away?2.They need to stop heavy cleaning until the place is actually shut3.Have slightly later opening hours.

Lovely venue nice for a coffee. Has an extensive menu but unfortunately they cannot accommodate all dietary needs. No gluten free on the menu ( apart from a very plain tasteless salad) and on asking the staff was told they could not accommodate. They do apparently have gluten free bread but it was all in the freezer. Menu does not have allergens on it, for people with tolerances and allergens. Which is very poor.

Quite like the place. The golf course is rubbish but the 19th is okay for a beer or a coffee. I haven't eaten here but a couple of mates do on a regular basis. They think it provides value for money.

Breakfast is served early, from 8.30 even on a Sunday, and since it's refurb last year it is such a warm, relaxing atmosphere that coming here is one of our favourite little treats when we've been walking around the area. The breakfast itself was good value which is even better when taking in the view across the golf course. We lost track of time enjoying our food and coffees, chatting away in a lovely booth, and the service was friendly and not rushed. Genuinely love this place and will continue to be regular visitors.

Had a nice meal with a couple of friends. I had Cajun Chicken Burger with Chipotle mayo, chips, salad, coleslaw and onion rings. The onion rings were nice and crispy and the chicken was fresh not processed. My friends all had fish and chips which they all liked. It was sunny so we were sat outside. Nice and relaxed atmosphere. I didn't catch the waitresses name with dark hair but she was lovely. Would recommend and return

Been 3 times now, each time had an issue, the chef wouldn't accommodate to my dietary requirements, took over 2 hours also for our breakfast on the 1st visit, I wont be going again! The chef needs to go on a very basic customer service course!

Great cafe and excellent service. Food quality is good and plenty of choice with daily specials. Currently offering free social membership which gives you 10% discount off food and drink.
