Baan Waan Thai
So disappointed! Pad Thai with no sauce and no vegetables. Green curry was this untasteful watery broth, no curry at all. I called the owner and asked why there was no sauce, and no vegetables in their so called “vegetable pad Thai” and why the green curry was just a weird green broth, he honestly said to me a vegetable pad Thai is just noodles and nothing else, the noodles are the vegetables! It was clearly just some instant noodles and an egg. They did not want to make any amends at all for what they gave us. Said they’d been in business 8 years but only 17 google reviews and he didn’t know the direction to find us in St. Merryn. It was so dry we just threw it away. Avoid avoid avoid.

Food was extremely fresh and very tasty. Green Thai Curry was full of fresh vegetables and plenty of chicken pieces. Chicken and cashew stir fry very tasty and not to spicy. Rice dish well presented. Worth a try but if you want it delivered best book early.

Hidden Gem of a Thai. Cooked very fresh and just the right level of spice. Will order again.

We ordered well in advance. Great friendly service on the phone and amazing food. Thank you so much. You do collect from a house but the price is great the food is amazing. We will be back next time we are in Cornwall.

Excellent meal - we ordered the chicken Tom Yum soup, a prawn and a chicken Pad Thai, and some prawn crackers. The food arrived fast, fresh, and hot and when I opened the bags the smells were deliciously enticing. The soup was great, with bold flavours that complimented each other. The crackers were fresh, not premade, and very moreish. The real star was the Pad Thai - perfectly balanced, not too much, well cooked, and delicious. This meal really made me want to try the rest of their menu!

Order your food well in advance. This is a small local home made take-away establishment run from the back kitchen of someones house. If the owners already has an order on the go & the other person is delivering, you might be waiting for some time. The menu is very basic & limited due to the size of the small kitchen & space available.Don't expect full marks & high expectations. However, the two people are polite & friendly. The main issue my family found was the hot spicy food was no different to the mild selection of food available. Notably the green & red thai curry, the green being the mild variety. Both were unbelievably hot & spicy. My children took a mouthful & refused to eat anymore. If you want mild food for kids; opt for the noodles wrapped in omellete.Pricing: BWT is pretty reasonable compared to town pricing.Delivery: Their is an extra charge for deliveries over 3 miles from St Eval. Delivery is free within the 3 miles radius. But, again if you are in a cue for delivery, you could be waiting for your food for a long time.Standard: clean, well packaged takeaway. Served hot. Basic menu.Overal: BWT won't win any awards for its menu, but is worth trying if you like your takeaway spicy & if you are hungry. You'll definately be hungry by the time your food arrives.

One of the issues with google is ability to sit behind electronics and spout nonsense...hence the previous review from someone who I suspect has never eaten from baan waan. They will not be able to substantiate the comments they have made either ie they have never been to their kitchen so would not know.We have a takeaway every two weeks and it is a very speedy service. It is always homemade to order so expect that quality and that level of time to cook. The menu is not basic. It has what you need and is very tasty with fresh wholesome ingredients. It is not in the back kitchen of someones house as so poorly described, it is an industrial kitchen. The lady is from Thailand and is highly regarded in the area as are her family. Indeed the lady works at the local organic farm at Bre Pen ands makes superb quiches and takeaway food during the day at the organic farm. Most of us locally all recommend the takeaway as a jewel in Cornwall and it far surpasses the quality of any other takeaway both in terms of quality and delivery time. The price is also very keen. We have a holiday rental and it is a very easy place to recommend for all our guests who rave of its quality.

All the food we had was very bland with minimal flavouring and sadly unlike any other Thai food we have had before. The Pad Thai seemed to be just boiled noodles with fried egg, with none of the usual Pad Thai flavours. The massaman curry was just chicken and potato in very watery sauce, again, with not much flavour and none of the usual fragrances you would expect from a Thai curry. The egg fried rice wasn’t what we expected either and seemed to have some unusual vegetables for what we are used to (sweetcorn). It’s a bit tricky to find for collection.Yes it’s cheap but personally i would definitely pay more for better quality food. The man who bought out the food was friendly. We only went here because the reviews were good.Maybe they were having a bad day.

Really plain dishes. I ordered a vegetable Pad Thai and it is just noodles with bits of spring onion and a bit of bean sprout. It had no source and no other vegetables. Very white and plain. My partner had a green curry and it is very watery. I would call it a broth rather than a curry. Be aware of it.
