Dave Hinde

In 1998 (when I was very short of cash) I bought an old Raleigh steel-framed hardtail mountain bike in a junk shop for £20. The frame looked OK but it was a pile of bits, with the wheels and many other bits missing. The chainset still had 3 rings, so I rebuilt it with cheap 26 wheels

I follow this company on Social media and thoroughly enjoy their honest and amusing postings about how things are going. This prompted me to look at their offer for some parts i required for my bike. The website was easy to navigate, they had the parts in stock and the price was good. The service has been excellent and even when they couldn't deliver exactly what i wanted they offered an alternative. Prompt and personal email updates and responses to queries. Will continue to use as an alternative to the faceless giants of the online world.

My father-in-law put me on to Dave Hinde when I was looking at getting a new bike as he had already had two and was greatly impressed by the quality and service. as a result me and my dad both visited Hinde, we met the guys and were really impressed, we then spec'd up two bikes in the same colours, with full prolite finishing kit, one full Shimano and the other full Campagnolo. both bikes are now 9 years old and are in pristine condition, they have never let us down, all we have done is replace tires and brake blocks. they've been a credit to Hinde and will hopefully remain so for years to come.

I'm a complete novice when it comes to bikes, but Dave and Jim came highly recommended by a friend. I visited their very conveniently situated shop and got great friendly advice and was not made the novice I am. I'm now the proud owner of bike Dave recommended and built for me within 3 weeks. I'm sure they could have sold me more expensive 'kit' but they didn't they sold me what I needed. It's a pleasure to visit the shop, nothing is too much trouble and the banter is great!

I bought my first road bike from Dave Hinde 10 years ago and have just been back there to get it resprayed for a second lease of life. In that time I have bought two custom builds and a TT frame. Over the years both Dave and Jim have been very generous with advice on all things from wheels to frames and just 'how to do stuff'. I have always been delighted with the service and for a small outfit, they are very competitively priced. Plus, I am delighted to put my money into the local economy rather than a big, no-face Interweb monolith. I can highly recommend them.

I bought one of Dave's race series bikes last year, as a women getting into cycling and buying my first road bike I had looked in the big mass produced cycle shops and not found anything I felt comfortable on with the spec I wanted in my price range. From first entering the shop my experience with Dave and his team was excellent. Dave spends time sizing you up taking into account your own riding style and preferences so that you receive a bike customised to you. Service, quality and value for money is second to none. Strongly recommend to anyone.

I have been a customer of Dave Hinde since around 1999 and have bought 4 or 5 bikes/frames from them in that time. I have also had many services and parts over those years.I have always been treated very well and had excellent service from both Dave and Jim, dropping things off for them to look at and repair or service whilst I am at work around the corner. If I've needed something fixing quickly for an event, they have always delivered.The prices are competitive and I always get good value

I have been using this bike shop for over 30 years and have always had excellent service. Dave is particularly good with building and servicing wheels. I recently had a buckled Kysrium Elite wheel from 05/06 which although considered to be old, had not seen much rain and had only modest wear. The buckle occurred whilst I was on holiday and a couple of bike shops I tried would not or could not deal with it due to its age. On my return, Dave sorted it out and it now runs true and is dished correctly. I would not hesitate to visit and use Dave Hinde.

I had never heard of Dave Hinde before a few months ago I decided to give it a go. I had some doubts as some reviews were not that positive but as they are very local to me, I thought I had to go and visit. I went to the shop and met James and Dave who provided me with a lot of information about their bikes, how they source their frames etc.... In addition we also discussed my needs for a new road bike. I have found the discussions very professional (I have been cycling and met with lots of people in the last 25 years, so I think I can make the difference ;) ), technical and friendly. After a few visits, I decided to buy the bike (this was January). I was kept regularly informed of the progress and was very pleased with the results. I love dealing with Jim at hinde racing. Very polite, very helpful and great service. I ordered a full drive train online and a part wasn't in stock so I was upgraded on it. Great prices too so definitely can't complain at anything they do. They're great.
