From the very start, we were greeted warmly and felt valued.. had the pick of seats, and nothing seemed too much trouble,The menu was very easy to understand. The waiter knew his products along with the bar offerings.. the squid was cooled very well (5 years in harrogate, and this is the 1st squid I've had that's been cooked like it should)The burger was mouthwatering and left you wanting more.. just as it should be, the atmosphere was relaxed, clean, and bright but kept the feel of private intricate dining..Proce was reasonable for sure then take off nhs 20% discount making it cheap for the quality.. looking forward to our next visit..Log fires, good grub, well looked after, decent prices all togther spot on.

Service was friendly and welcoming. Beer was good as was dessert and coffee. Mai course of steak pie, veg and chips was very poor. Veg very over cooked, chip were dry, and pie pastry was dry.

Gorgeous pub with absolutely delicious food.I love as well that they allow dogs in the initial part of the pub, so you can book a dog table. Highly recommended

Stumbled upon this after a visit to Harlow Carr. Fanastic country pub. Loads of good ale on the pumps, and good gin/wine selection. Service was great, couldn't do enough for us. The food was fab with good portions. Would definitely recommend it.

Went at lunchtime for organised meal with walking group. Superb, attentive service from all the staff. Vegetarian meal, Mushroom & Ale Pie which my husband and I both had was lovely and very filling. Considering how busy the pub was we could not fault anything. I would highly recommend The Smiths Arms.

Lovely old pub. I think we arrived a bit late for lunch, so my fellow travellers thought the food had been hanging around a bit. I went for the beyond meat burger... knew it'd be a mistake as these fake meat products means I taste them for a whole day or more. However, it looked good.

Lovely place, very accommodating with a Great menu and good drinks. Staff were spot on. 100% reccoment to family and friends....bonus points for open fire and dog friendly. Looking forward to coming again soon.

Great pub with great staff.Found a nice reading corner, with a ready supply of books, on a rainy Thursday afternoon.Dogs welcomed which was a real bonus and the food was lovely

Drove all the way from Leeds to eat at one of our fave places. The time was only 19:00 and they stopped serving at 20:00. We were told that the restaurant was fully booked and busy. As you can see by the photos below that didn't seem to be the case. We do eat here quite regularly and it was nice to see that some of the bar staff recognised us, however unfortunately we will be not dining here again.
