Unfortunately a very expensive experience. I know Cornwall is pricey and generally we were charged around £9-£11 in most pubs for a medium rose and a pint of IPA. At the victory it was £14.Honestly don't know how they justify it. Was offered the menu but politely declined.

Great food, super friendly and polite staff, and dog friendly. One of the best Sunday roasts I've had for many years

Popped in here for a late lunch after getting the ferry over from Falmouth. It had been recommended to us. It was superb, we eat in the restaurant upstairs which has a wonderful view. It was magnificent! My friend had Haddock and chips and said it was the best she ever had. I had the Seafood Goan curry, it was fantastic. So happy we visited here, it was a very memorable meal.

We had high expectations for this little pub and booked Sunday Roast ahead of our first visit - which was just for an evening drink. My pint of ale was excellent. The service however was cold, with no welcoming smile and no eye contact. There was no convivial atmosphere provided by the team. The gents toilet was littered with paper towels, the small non had overflowed. The cubical loo was not clean and really needed to be refurbished. I would have cancelled our booking for the Sunday Lunch prefering to find an alternative venue but we would have been charged £20 per head for cancelling within 24 hours of our table. Having said that, the Sunday Roast beef was extremely good and well presented. But the service again was cold and disconnected. Difficult to blame the very young staff but the pub needs a host and for that reason we will not be returning on this holiday.

We booked a table at the Victory Inn because of the menu shown on their website - I was looking forward to the trout and my husband thought the steak would be a good choice. Parking at the nearby town car park was no real problem as the Victory is very old and tucked away in a passageway, which has it's own appeal. On arriving it was disappointing to see that a number of ales were sold out. On sitting down it was soon apparent that the actual menu had changed from the website menu - why? There was no trout and even more strange no steak whatsoever. We ordered our drinks and said we were ready to order our meal - the waitress said she would be back to take our food order in a minute. Fifteen minutes later I noticed other food orders were being taken (customers arriving after us) and when asking if we could order, I was told that she had a million things to do and was very busy - quite rudely! In the end we ordered our meal with another waitress and our meal arrived a further 45 minutes later. Yes the food was ok but can't say it was particularly good value. We think the menu on line should reflect the actual menu available, the prices of items still available had also increased somewhat! The service needs to be updated also. For the first time I can remember we didn't leave a tip

Stopped there for some food and drink. Unfortunately, the menu didn't have what my wife and grandson wanted, so we just had drinks on the upstairs terrace. The service was great, and the beer was perfectly served.THEY ARE ALSO DOG FRIENDLY!

Reviews promised a traditional pub, we were a bit let down by being seated upstairs where it was quiet (off season) and some terrible lift music or something was on all evening. Service was quite slow although really helpful, I assume they were busy downstairs and fitting upstairs in between.

Came here as a birthday treat with family. What a mistake! Fair enough I received a birthday card and happy birthday bunting. My granddaughter treated us to an expensive bottle of wine which we took up to our table, so far so good. After which seemed a long wait the waitress came for our order. We ordered our starters and our mains. Another long wait and the starters arrived, all very nice. Then the “mains” arrived! My daughter had fish and chips, which was fine. Now came the shock! Three of us ordered crab salad!! What a laugh! About a table spoon of crab mixed with aliholi, three tiny pieces of toast and a couple of slithers of fennel, no salad whatsoever! When we questioned the dish the waitress said it was a starter! This wasn’t explained on the menu and £18 a portion!! We made our feelings known and someone else came up with a tiny bowl of salad, saying “here’s some more salad for you”!!Just felt so ripped off, across the water in the Greenbank Hotel you can get a first class two corse meal fo £23. Say no more.
