Red and Green Practice

I am currently looking after my 5 year old grandson whilst my daughter is in Spain as her dad is on his deathbed. My grandson has had diarrhoea for 4 days and the pharmacy said I now needed to see a GP. I took him to mine, the red and green Practice. The receptionist said they won’t see him as where he lives in Totton is not that far. I told her I didn’t know as they had recently moved from Hythe to Totton. I tried to explain about where my daughter was and the pressure and heartbreak she was under, especially as it was only today she had to give consent to withdraw treatment for her father, and that I couldn’t burden her trying to find out their GP surgery. Receptionist said they couldn’t help and I would have to find out. My grandson is fine, no pain, no sickness, so I just needed advice. Was told again, they can’t do that! Absolutely shocking surgery! I’m definitely moving from there! I was under the impression you can go to any surgery if you were away from home for more than 25 hours!

This practice has a terrible culture!DR’s are great, but trying to navigate through the admin and secretory layer is an experience I would warn against.I was appalled at how they treated me after uncovering that they had incorrect data on my records, it was up to me to prove it was wrong. At one stage a secretory even slammed the phone down on me. - I did eventually prove they had incorrect data on my file and it’s been changed, but without an apology!I am fortunate enough to also have access to private doctors, I would feel totally trapped if this was not the case.They are on another level when it comes to sloppy admin, rudeness and arrogance. - I totally get that the NHS are under a lot of pressure, but there is a level of courtesy required to do your jobs properly!Such a shame as the doctors are good.

To MB1 whom has a great experience getting their Covid jab - it's because they get PAID for this service. I can assure you, if you were ill and need an appointment.... Totally different story :(

Useless been phoning and phoning and everytime we told we will get a phone call for an appointment. we have been trying since March and had nothing. They are all useless

Husband needs appointment he works and cannot phone at 8am he needs a specific day ( Friday) or a late appointment. Just keeps getting told can't make appointment phone at 8 which as I say he cant! He has seen pharmacist, treatment didn't work, got pushed to hythe hospital by red and green nurse perscribed treatment hasnt worked and still has a real problem Hopefully if I phone for him at 8am I will actually be able to make an appointment for him!

Fantastic surgery. I have had to wait occasions when the staff are running late, but it is, no doubt, for good reasons: they have no doubt been listening to or caring for someone who needs more time than me. I have always found the front staff and telephone staff to be helpful and professional. I have heard patients speak rudely to the reception staff and then seem surprised when they get a curt reply! I have always been able to make an appointment when needed. I am very grateful to have this surgery and its wonderful staff in my community.

In recent months I have gone to the doctors about a lump in my armpit, doctor was over running by 45 minutes, which is fine but when I got in to finally see her I was rushed and spent no more than 5 minutes in there to be told it was a fatty lump or a blocked sweat gland, since, the lump has not disappeared and it has got slightly bigger. I am 28 years of age with breast cancer in my family and no referral was made to check this lump out. After the experience my dad had with this doctors surgery which ultimately over the years lead to his death I am now moving to another doctors surgery as have been totally put off.

I've just attended the Red and Green practice for my Covid booster. The whole process ran like a well-oiled machine, and the staff and/or volunteers were efficient and friendly. Many thanks for what you do, particularly under these extremely difficult circumstances.

Developed a system where us patients have to negotiate a maze to obtain a face to face appointment, shame we cannot withdrawn our funding, all the local practises have teamed up to stop this, run by management not by caring Doctors
