Updated review November23.Had a minor issue which turned out to be cable related. Local dealer scalped me for £170.00 and didn't fix the fault.... Moorgate got my turntable uplifted , checked out and returned to me at their cost. Even remotely figured out the fault.There are other dealers out there. None of them impress me as much as Moorgate. Flawless service once againAmazing attention to detail and customer service. Recently visited for the 5th time ( They are in Sheffield, I live north of Aberdeen). My audio system now comes purely from this shop, and the professionalism and knowledge they have is one of the main reasons for sticking to the same team. Modern Retail Legends.

Our aging LP12 (Circa 88) didn't have the ability to play 45s which has been frustrating when we have a few hundred in the collection, just redundant. Sent a message to Paul Hobson asking for advice on how we could remedy this bearing in mind our budget was limited to £500.Paul responded quickly and recommended a product called Zeus made by Valhalla electronics in Liverpool. This clever invention replaces the existing power supply in this case a Valhalla PSU with a more complex solution for providing both 33/45 rpm at the touch of a button. It doesn't end there though. What it also does is monitor the speed with such accuracy it completely changes what you thought was a good sound into an astounding one! Our LP12 has never sounded so good. Paul also installed a Cirkus bearing kit that was within budget which was the icing on the cake. The level of advice and service we have received from Paul and team at Moorgate is second to none. We have no hesitation recommending Moorgate Acoustics for your HiFi requirements and comfortably say return custom assured. Thanks folks!

Popped in for advice regarding updating my turntable.I actually saved money, for now, but because they clearly know their stuff, I might end up spending a bit more than I intended to in the knowledge that when I do make my purchase it'll be based on their advice. (Sounds a bit long winded!)My upgrade is on hold for now.

Popped in for a lid for my Rega turntable they offered me a new one or, ‘if you don’t need a new one you can have this spare (immaculate) we have?’ Oh yes lovely says I, how much do you want for it? Oh you can have it for nothing, no problem. Wow, not often this sort of stuff happens these days, lovely people, very grateful will definitely come back when I need something else for me record player.
