Garage able to fit me in with short notice at a busy time of the year and completed service and MOT super quickly. Also clear communication RE changes required and estimated costs before starting! Will be going again.

I’ve been using Mark at Southampton Street Garage for years and the service he offers is fantastic.Very professional and is very honest and always keeps me updated with what work is being done.I’ve recommended this garage to several family and friends and they have gone on my recommendation and booked there vehicles in and have also had great dealings with Mark. Also the 2 lads what work there are very knowledgeable and accommodating.RegardsGary

After my usual garage was unable to diagnose the cause of a breakdown, I took the car to Mark who had a diagnosis within 30 minutes of me leaving the car with him. Parts were ordered and the repair was finished the next day! Communication throughout was brilliant. This was my first experience with Southampton St Garage and I won't be going anywhere else from now on.

Bit gutted with my experience here.Knowing there was an issue with our exhaust we dropped off the car, and were told instantly that our back box had a large hole in. We received a call later confirming the issue, and that it would cost in the region of £400, that he would call if the cost goes above £500. Paid £400 ish in the end, and drove absolutely fine for about 5 days, sounded like a normal car again, happy. After the weekend of no driving, on monday the loud throaty and wobbling sound got progressively worse with each drive. I called to explain that it returned, and he was quick to say it was the rest of the exhaust. Confused, I dropped the car back off, and was shown the new replacement back box repair, and a gap in the gasket in the mid-front section of the exhaust. All made sense. After asking how much this would cost, he said £200. I asked why this wasn't spotted on the first repair, and he confirmed that the new back box weakens the rest of the exhaust, and that he was trying to save us money. At this point, i'm thinking why didn't we receive the call to say it'll be above £500 for the full repair, why give the car back if a repair weakens the rest of the car. He said he'd tighten the bolts and do what he can with the current exhaust, he did this free of charge which I appreciated.Upon picking back up it sounded the exact same, and 3 weeks later the the exhaust sounds worse than when first dropping the car off, with an additional loud and constant high pitched squeak wobbling sound when coming slightly off the clutch. The car now sounds like a moped when idling, and fuel is dropping 2x as fast. The lag in revs when changing gears sounds identical to when we first dropped off. Exact same issue, only with £400 down. Begs the question as to whether an attempt was even made to tighten what was there the second time dropping the car. There was a note to return the car if the issue persisted within the year on the job sheet. We did that, nothings been done, but made worse, and I feel reluctant dropping it back as it all doesn't add up to me.2 stars as I could visibly see the issues and the work done on the first job, but honestly there should have been the call to explain the repairs would exceed £500. This would have been better than what feels like a job half done. This wasn't done purposely to get that extra bit of cash (like near all garages and dealerships now), and it was all genuine, but he is quick to stop you in your tracks before you can explain the sounds and issues you have seen first hand with the car. Seems like a lack of sense to not do a full repair and explain the reason behind the extra cost to us.

Reliable and honest business. First garage that haven’t tried to rip me off. Fair prices and quick and high quality service, but most importantly consistent! Will never take my car anywhere else.Thank you again for your great help

Took my car as it had a stiff gear shift and was said to change the clutch and the car would be alright. I spent 900 pounds and the gear problem was not solved and on top of It my parking sensors are not working after repair they spoiled that too. And when I called back they said I needed to bring the car back and now they think I need to spend more money and get other parts. I took the car and spoiled it more. This is not professional work at all.

This garage is fantastic. They are great at communicating and very thorough. I took my car in yesterday for a check on the brakes and tyres. As I headed to the garage, an engine light came on. They were very happy to look into all queries, resolving the engine light issue and the brakes in a couple of hours. They sent me photos of the tyres I was unsure about, and were able to confirm they didn’t need replacing. It is refreshing to have a garage who is trustworthy and honest about needed action on my car- my car is running brilliantly again- highly recommended

Been to this garage before and trust them wholeheartedly - mark had a look at my new car and gave it a once over as requested and knew straight away how to fix a known issue - also has good contacts if there's something his garage doesn't normally deal with (wheel balancing etc) friendly and reliable garage which I always recommend! His brother Lewis also has a breakdown recovery type business I've used before! Both brilliant people.

Great experience. Needed my car looking at and fixing at short notice, they were able to fit it in the next working day. Dropped it off early in the morning, had the issue diagnosed and a quote provided that morning. Problem sorted at a good price and was able to pick the car up the same day. Would definitely recommend

Mark was wonderful in taking care of my 335i’s OFHG leak that was plaguing me to no end. Job was quick, reasonably priced and done really well and he did a great job explaining the details of what was replaced and any details surrounding it. Would 100% recommend this garage and I will continue to use them as I stay in Reading.
