The Dunes Cabin

The staff came across as fairly rude and untrained. The service therefore was poor. I paid £9 for a prawn bun which had nothing else in it. The prawns were tasty I must say but I feel this is rather overpriced considering its a prawn bun from a shack. The nearby Hebridean smokehouse sells far more for far less. I was not given an order number, and this caused some confusion when one staff member called out my order. I'll avoid this place in the future. The nearby nature reserve and beech is beautiful however.

Roll filled with delicious, perfectly cooked scallops and black pudding in a stunning location for under £6... what's not to like!

Firstly, great service very friendly and professional. Scallop and black pudding roll so tasty! Selection of cakes also lovely! We had hot chocolate and smoked salmon on oatcakes too, generous portions. A special little place, will definitely be back! Can't wait for re-opening next season.

Gorgeous local food with a superb menu. Definitely recommend the scallops and black pudding roll. I'm told the Hebridean Smokehouse peat smoked salmon and cream cheese sandwich was also delicious. We also sampled the homemade lime and coconut cake - superb!If you are passing, treat yourself

Lovely selection of homemade cakes including gluten free. Really reasonably priced. Right next to the bird sanctuary.

We had lovely chicken and rice soup, piping hot, with scallop and black pudding roll. Delicious and cooked to perfection

I stopped after craving a decent bowl of soup, and this did not disappoint, I should have bought two bowls. I also had a bacon roll. I explained my allergies, and nothing was a bother. Amazing food truck and very tasty. Even for people who don't do seafood

Brilliant food shack in a beautiful location, stones throw from the beach. It was pretty busy when we visited but ordering was easy enough after a short time queuing. Electronic bleepers are given out and you’re pinged when your food is ready. This was the only downside of the visit. Having placed my order I waited, and waited, bleepers were going off, people who were in the queue directly in front of me received their food, then people after, I was actually getting concerned the bleeper wasn’t working until finally bleeped. Wait time? 40 mins! If I’d been told of the wait then fine but I wasn’t and frustration set in. Anyway….Avocado and Humous Sandwich, delicious. Scallop and Black Pudding roll, delicious. Scallops perfectly cooked. Definitely worth a detour if you’re exploring the island.

Absolutely delicious and all served fresh. Birding while you wait is a plus. Definitely recommend.

This is the best Food Van in Scotland bar none, and who would have thought you’d find it in the Outer Hebrides, their Bacon & Scallop roll is to die for. Good People too. Margarets always got a treat for an errant Frenchie. Beach photo for effect.
