Experience Hampshire

This was my second foraging experience led by Freya. Once again it was brilliant! Freya has such an incredible wealth of knowledge which she combines with enthusiasm, humour and real life anecdotes. She is such an inspiration and has given me the confidence to look for fungi and explore all it has to offer using the knowledge she has taught me.The mushroom soup she made for us was the best soup I’ve ever had.I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her led experiences - I will definitely be signing up for more!

The walk was a birthday present from our daughter so we had been looking forward to taking the tour for a little while. Everything Jeff told us was clear and interesting as well as fascinating. He pitched the talk perfectly. We rarely visit Southampton but feel now that we have a deeper understanding of the history; perhaps more than many that live there all the time. Thank you.

I took my mum, sister and my partner and had an absolutely fantastic time at the Winter Foraging and Fungi Workshop yesterday. Freya was a super host, really knowledgeable, fun and engaging. We were all newbies to foraging and despite the rain had the best time! It was so nice for the four of us to spend some quality time together doing something different and learning something new. We can’t wait to find our next activity with Experience Hampshire!

Fascinating tour, led by experts with great knowledge. So much history to learn and great to go to parts of the cathedral not normally open to the public. Wonderful views of the city from high up. Just beware of the narrow, steep staircase to get to the roof.

My husband and I attended the Winchester walking tour this September and really enjoyed it!Entertaining, good pace and really informative - a lovely way to spend an evening and perfect for locals and tourists alike, would definitely recommend if you’re keen to know more about Winchester’s (vast!) history.We found it very inspiring :)

I recently had the pleasure of attending Freya's Wild Foraged Cocktail Workshop with Experience Hampshire, and it turned out to be a brilliant afternoon. This workshop was a perfect blend of foraging, mixology, and tasty treats. The use of locally sourced, wild ingredients, with Freya’s commitment to sustainability and genuine connection with the outdoors makes this experience truly unique. This is a must book experience that I cannot recommend enough.

This was my first foraging experience with Freya. It was a very enjoyable day and Freya made everyone very welcome and we all introduced ourselves to each other. I would certainly recommend this experience. Freya was very knowledgeable and had a good sense of humour. As feedback has been requested the only down side I could see, was the fact that we as a group did not have the opportunity to pick any mushrooms individually and explore in the woodland ourselves. Freya did all the picking and I would have liked to have been given a little basket myself along with the proper tools, and had an opportunity to discover some fungi myself to then be discussed with Freya as a group at the end.However despite this, I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and will look forward to another experience - as a dog owner I would love for a foraging experience where we can teach our dog to sniff out truffles.

Her expertise in mushroom gathering was truly impressive, and she made the entire experience both educational and enjoyable.Freya's knowledge of the local flora and fauna, particularly when it came to mushrooms, was outstanding. She took the time to explain not only how to identify different species but also their culinary uses and potential medicinal benefits. It was clear that she had a deep passion for the subject, and her enthusiasm was infectious.What really set this workshop apart was Freya's friendly and fun personality. She created a warm and welcoming atmosphere for everyone in the group. Her patience in answering questions and offering guidance to beginners like myself was greatly appreciated. It felt like spending the day with a knowledgeable friend rather than an instructor.I would highly recommend Freya's Foraging Workshop to anyone interested in learning more about the incredible world of mushroom gathering and foraging. It's an educational, fun, and enriching experience that you won't want to miss. Thank you, Freya, for an unforgettable day!

Very interesting ,different experience ,visiting the vaults ,definitely worth while joining the tour.Our guide Geoff was a lovely ,very knowledgable man about Southampton history ,quite amazing at how much knowledge he has stored.Would have been nice to have fitted in a few more vaults but time ran out .Definitely do another visit & hopefully some of the other vaults .Very worth while .

We had a fantastic time exploring the underground vaults with our host Geoff. I would highly recommend the Vaults Tour - but how did we not know they existed especially having lived in Southampton for 57 years! Thanks again Geoff and we hope to see you again.
