The unit is lovely ,spacious and well equipped for our needs. We had a quick walkabout to checkout the facilities and find it caters well for families. The meals in the restaurant with their service staff was nice. I like the place very much as location wise ,its a great area to explore. The down side is its isolation . The closest village is a good 20 min. walk with no direct trails and one could easily miss and get lost.

Once you find this amazing retreat you won't want to leave. The ladies in the reception are amazing, very friendly and helpful.Just watch out for the two speed bumps just before it, they are the highest ones I've ever encountered. You can hear every car grind across them.

The rooms are out standing, took me by suprise as it was the 1st time going to a self-catering place. I hated how the lady in the swimming area was so rude and almost felt some racism towards my family. Pool is supposed to close at 8, and we were told to leave at 7.30 on Sunday due to maintenance." After we left the pool

It's a beautiful place, the apartments are lovely, large and well appointed. Be aware that the spa is actually a swimming pool with a tiny hot tub and a sauna and steam room. I personally wouldn't call it a spa. Make sure you take everything that you need as there are no shops in walking distance and no bar. You can buy bits from the reception area, like milk, cereal and you can get a bottle of wine if you run out haha. There is stuff to do on site, swimming pool, crazy golf, tennis and the like. Some nice towns not too far away.

A lovely location and decent rooms. However, it's a shame the service is not up to scratch. I have never been to a place where the staff speak so rudely and so disrespectfully in England and abroad. Felt indirect racism and discrimination towards me and my family. The staff need more training as before booking we were informed we can use the facilities after check out only to get there and after check out be asked to leave the pool 'now' as we have checked out, no warning beforehand but insisting we get out that minute, with small children this is not acceptable! When we addressed this with a manager the response was 'ARE YOU GOING TO DO WHAT YOU ARE TOLD OR NOT?!' This is the level of respect given to customers at this place. It's a shame as the place is decent. We had little kids and this place was not accomodating to them at all. Won't be visiting again and please put some training in place for your team and those who are racist should have some extra training in discrimination and racism.

The property is neglected and this is such a shame as there is so much potential and character. The 9 hole golf course is really a 9 hole chip and putt course only the grass was that long it was imposable to putt a ball. We had a cupboard outside the bedroom door with water tanks inside but the water was running all the time, this was reported to resection the following morning and we were promised it will be fixed before the end of the day but nothing was done or communicated to us, the bathroom was in poor condition. I'm very disappointed with our stay here it is advertised as a 4 star property but is 3 stars at best, not worth the money. This is not a place I will recommend.

We enjoyed our stay in the most part. It's a beautiful site but please be mindful of the Red/Green light system on entry, we had no idea of this, it's absolutely essential to follow the lights. They are timed at every 2 minutes, and if you go on red you will be trapped in the tightest path where no vehicle will be able to pass or reverse. I had no idea about this and went on red which could've been a complete disaster. PLEASE BE AWARE. Bizarrely no literature in any hotel website mentions this at all which is ridiculous. We initially stayed in a 2 bed terrace but it had a terribly offensive smell (weed) which I companied about, I was given a air freshener. I opened all the windows and it was still overwhelming. I text the staff at reception who were very good (Katy/Emily in particular) they did make a effort to change our room and move us to the coach house the next day, this did spoil things somewhat. (The room should've been thoroughly inspected before letting out, why that didn't happen I have no idea, it was obviously bad)The rooms were clean and all the essentials for cooking, eating were present. We took a cooler bag of foods as no restaurant or bar which we knew about.I ordered a curry from Little India which was excellent as they delivered. We used the gym and tennis courts which was excellent and quiet.I would definitely visit again and it will improve once they have the food drink amenities running.Staff were all very pleasant throughout.

Just been here one day. A slow drive for a couple of miles makes you think you are in the middle of nowhere. Helpful reception, warm spacious (family) room. Small but warm swimming pool with hot jacuzzi. Mini golf course and other sporting things here.

Ridiculous that there's no restaurant for a venue like this.No warnings from Hotel communications that there's the two speed humps on the lane that approaches the hotel entrance which causes your car to drop suddenly. If you have a BMW or Sporty suspension, you will ground your car unless you go over them like a snail!Town house accommodation floor didn't feel clean.Swimming pool wasn't available when reception said it was. Clearly there's ongoing breakdown between reception staff and swimming pool staff. Also a lot of reviewers mention it's too cold to use it anyway. It seems the hotel doesn't like to put the pool water heating on.Poor electric showers in the Town house.Staff were nice and location is peaceful as isolated.Beds were comfy.

Not so great experience. We've loved Wychnor for decades now but honestly this could have been better.Room was tired (stain on the sofa plus a huge slug, kitchen sink was loose) but contained everything we could need. It's novel to have a room with only single glazed windows, would have been more pleasantly novel if the room next door wasn't so noisy. Our biggest problem was that we chose a lovely country location with a spa, restaurant and everything we needed so we didn't need to leave the estate, only to be informed on arrival that the restaurant wasn't open. No reason was given or even a real apology - but we could have some extra complimentary tea and milk. This room was booked 3 months ago, there has been plenty of time for Wychnor to inform us that their listed amenities were not available. Terrible service that will definitely make me rethink booking this location in the future.
