About the Business

Crown Posada | As one of the most famous pubs in Newcastle – and the second oldest in the city – the Crown Posada has a big reputation to live up to. The pub is a grade two listed building with a Victorian exterior, an elaborately panelled entrance, original stained glass windows and a warm, lively, and laughter-filled atmosphere that’s as rare as the pub itself.

Crown Posada
A great find. On an extremely wet early evening in late October, this was exactly the type of pub we were looking for for a pre dinner pint. Very snug, cozy and warm with a good atmosphere.A good choice of beers, served well by very friendly and knowledgeable bar staff. It is in a great location in the heart of the city, only a short walk from the river.

Miserable barman let this great old pub down. Chit chat without trying to demean the punters would be preferred. Time to change his occupation maybe?Great to see it reopened.Beautiful, unique, old fashioned bar with interesting history and no pretetions - other than said barman.Went back two weeks later. Guy was still at it. Asked for another barman who was lovely.

A beautiful old Newcastle pub. Fantastic interior decor, which in itself makes it worth a visit. And an equally good selection of beers. Perfect place for a good chat with friends.

Excellent Newcastle pub close to the High Bridge. Six cask ales on handpump when I last visited. There is a small snug at the front together with bar counter and longer seating area. It can get a bit congested as you enter the door. A few tables outside some of them covered.Architecturally, the pub is a gem. Two lovely stained glass windows in the frontage and a very interesting coffered ceiling.

Superb range of beers, excellent tunes on the record player, yes they still whirl the vinyl here for music.
