They have moved stuff around since I was here last. Much bigger manga and graphic novel section now. Although they are not great at stocking books in sequence. They only had the 3rd of a trilogy I was looking for. Great for stuff thats newly published, but less so for older books, ie more than 6 months old.

Great bookshop and very helpful staff. They located the particular book that I wanted to buy, even though it had been placed in the wrong section. Good café on the 1st floor.

Brilliant staff and an absolutely superb children's section. Always a pleasure to visit this store. The staff quite obviously love books as much as the customers- and my daughter is fascinated by your children's books section, which is bursting with great things and visual appeal!

Lovely staff, nice cafe, great selection. Took my kid who was a little sad that we bought a book rather than all the toys, but it had an excellent selection of early reader books

Dodgy pricing practices. More than once the till charged my book 2-4 quid more than what was stated on the sticker. Update your databases if you are honest with your customers

Great Waterstones in a very good location. Plenty of space in the store, good amount of books and a thriving Cafe with toilets. Helpful staff and well organised stock. Would recommend highly for all book enthusiasts.

We always find it a real struggle to find a decent cafe in Exeter where you can get a decent pot of tea ( and not a tea bag in a mug ...which we hate ). So....9 times out of 10 we always end up in Waterstones in their lovely little cafe tucked in the corner with a view of the bustling high street below. The American/Canadian lady serving was on her own but was simply lovely and very efficient with no panic despite the queue. Just an Earl grey and an English tea for me with a toasted tea cake. So calm and relaxing surrounded by books and people reading books.....super!! The simple things in life.....

Good coffee, nice selection of cakes. Friendly staff. Nice atmosphere, but who isn't happy enjoying a coffee and cake surrounded by books

If you want a jigsaw puzzle, a kids book or coffee and cake, this seems like the right place to go, but if you want a proper grown-up book, stock is often patchy, and in my experience the staff here have basically no knowledge about their areas.Had a guy here tell me a while back that a particular book was no longer available and hadn't been in stock for years, despite it being on the shelf right next to him!
