Had a fantastic day with Gerald. He is a top class guide/instructor and his sense of humour and patience mean you'll have a fantastic day out on the water with him. I cannot recommend Devon School of Fly Fishing enough, just brilliant!

My girlfriend and I booked onto the beginners fly fishing lesson as we were down here on holidays. With very limited to no fly fishing experience our guide Gerald was more than accommodating and was able to show us both how to cast even with it being my girlfriends first ever time holding a fishing rod. I cannot recommend this highly enough to anyone who wants to give fly fishing a go. What an amazing day out.

Fantastic fly fishing school run by some very experienced instructors that really know their stuff! If you have never fly fished before or want proper coaching I cannot reccomend the Devon school enough. Gerald talked us through various techniques and supplied a range of equipment which fitted us all well. Wading through the middle of the beautiful Exe right up to our midriffs was a wonderful experience in itself. Gerald knew all the best fishing spots and had an encyclopedic knowledge of the flora and fauna of British rivers. He made sure we all caught a fish or three and I can honestly say there is something magical about the experience. When you do catch them, in the moment of the elation the colours seen to stand out more so than, say, looking at fish in a tank. I would recommend this to anyone who is mildly interested in fishing because you will be hooked at the end of it! Good on you Gerald for what you do and being an all round good egg!

Had a great day of sport on the Dart with Gerald. A very knowledgeable guide with great insight into where fish can be found. Would definitely recommend him for anyone - from complete beginner to seasoned angler.

I would just like to say a massive thank you to John and Emma for making my dad's birthday a day to remember!We booked a day's beginner lesson for 2 of us with Emma who was very helpful and wrote a personalized gift card for the day. (thank you)We arrived in the morning at the fox and hound hotel and met John who took us through the basics with no jargon and made it really easy to understand what we would need and how much to spend on things should we buy our own gear (they provided everything we needed for the day), after we practiced lots of different types of casting and went on to fish a day at 2 amazing picturesque places. by the end of the day, we felt we could go away and fish on our own.Can't recommend Devon School of fly fishing enough, needless to say, we're now hooked on fly fishing!

Really fantastic time exploring parts of the world you'd otherwise never get to - or even know existed - and always some good fish. I've been with Devon School of Fly Fishing on big rivers, tiny streams, on moors, in gorges, in valleys, on estuaries. Never another angler in sight and always great company. Highly recommended for memories you'll never forget even for those most experienced angler. Beginners will just want to fish more and more!

Pete and Emma we're amazingly friendly and accommodating throughout the booking process, and Jim and Tom were fantastic instructors on the day. What a wonderful day! My partner and I booked on with Gerald for a fly fishing lesson yesterday and he was an amazing teacher. From initial contact to the day of the experience Gerald kept us up to date with the weather reports and where would be best to fish. I have never fished before and Gerald was very good at teaching me the basics and being patient with me. Meanwhile my partner has fished before and Gerald was able to help him improve his techniques. We throughly enjoyed our day out and would recommend it to anyone who fancies giving fly fishing a go!
