I’ve previously been a bit of a regular of the two Fat Hippo locations in Sheffield it was nice to visit again as it’s been a little while! Food was great as always, staff were polite and friendly. Only minor bit of feedback I’d give would possibly be a non - alcoholic beer or mock tail option and that we were waiting quite a while for the bill but these are minor nitpicks

We came in just for a small bite and a beer or two on a Saturday evening. The service is a bit slow - we waited a while to place out orders and even longer to get the bill (finally went up to the counter to pay).Their own beer is alright, nothing special — we expected it to be on tap but it’s canned. We ordered the vegetarian Wachos which are generally quite lovely but extremely spicy!

Staff were amazing and super helpful to get the electric wheelchair for one of our party in and out really appreciate their help and attitude. Unfortunately the burgers were less than average both chicken choice and beef choice, the fries were good.

Amazing as always. Best burger chain I think I've been to. Had the beef burger last time, chicken this time. A must try and Poppy our waitress Poppy was great! Will be back again soon, thank you!

Actually visited here last minute as the flooding had cancelled another reservation of ours.Great place staff managed to squeeze us in on a busy evening.Menu was lacking options on alcohol only 3 cocktails all of which includes beer or lager and only two choices of rum or gin so be aware.The food itself came out quickly and was delicious no issues at all very tasty.However the place itself was cold and had a breeze coming through so we had to keep our coats on and once we had finished I spent a while trying to get the attention of anyone so we could pay which was frustrating.Don't let it discourage you definitely still worth a visit.

Absolutely wonderful! Lovely staff, friendly and took our orders fast!Burger was incredible but the fries were average although had fantastic seasoning! My partner had the dirty fries and they were incredible!Atmosphere was great but I have been in more relaxed places, would of liked to see more decor upstairs.Definitely worth a trip when you’re in york!

I was visiting York and we stopped at Fat Hippo. Food, service and atmosphere are great plus I have to thank Jack the waiter for promptly helping me while I choked on a drink and I couldn’t breath. He did the manoeuvre to assist me and really rescued me with calmness and professionalism. A second guy who worked at the restaurant, who I didn’t get the name of, supervised me and asked me how I was doing many times way after I was back to feel fine. Thank you again and sorry for the chaos and the not enough tip left.

We went for the lunchtime burger deal which was good value. The sauces/dips were incredible! The burger was a bit dry and could’ve done with more sauce. But the wings were 10/10 wish I could’ve tried them all.

Wow! This place is just awesome. Great drinks, super food and it's a fair price for central york. 1700 to 1800 is 3 courses for £20. And you get a lot for your money.Super nice staff and the place is nicely busy!Will definitely be back!
