Leyland Motors' Worker Statue
Very fitting statue of a former factory worker which helps you to understand just how much of a part that the motor industry has played in the history of Leyland. As a former motor trade employee myself I really appreciated seeing this and found it thought provoking. I believe that they've actually identified the worker who this statue is based on now as well. The nearby market is built upon the site of the former North Motor Works.

Leyland Motors' Worker Statue
A bronze statue depicting an unknown worker from the former Leyland Motors close to the newly-installed North Works gates on Hough Lane. Inspired by a photograph of an otherwise unknown worker from a black and white photo taken in 1929.Within two months of the unveiling in 2009 there were several acts of vandalism and the worker's pipe was 'stolen'.
