Hot Wok

Ordered food over the phone and was told it would be 30 minutes, food never arrived and they would not answer the phone at all

Great food friendly service.Can get very busy so ringing ahead is always a good idea.

Tried ringing Saturday night a few times to order as we live 18 miles away....no answer, as a result of this we phoned a different Chinese placed an order...drove past the Hot wok on our way to collect our food and it was open.Phoned Hot Wok again on Sunday night to order food, again no answer, drove there and it was open.When I questioned the bloke at the desk he was very very rude and abrupt....said the phone was working....well obviously Hot Wok do not want the trade as you blatantly ignored the phone both nights.His customer service skills need a thorough overhaul and we will most certinally will not be back.

Reasonable prices and good food IF you can get the phone answered to place an order. We always struggle to get an order placed on nights when a particular member of staff is working. Have been regular customers for several years, but now looking fir an alternative Chinese takeaway die to the regularly terrible service

Fantastic Chinese food that is good quality and at reasonable price. Can only do takeaways there. The food is so good that we ate there twice in a row on both nights in town. Kids love the prawn crackers. Best they have tasted even compared to those we frequently eat back home in Singapore.

Firstly, I understand that this is a Chinese restaurant and there might be some language barriers - but why would you have the front of house run by a lady who appeared to have virtually no English and didn't seem to comprehend what I wanted even when I pointed at things on the menu. Secondly, having supposedly checked the order before she handed it over to me in a closed box, one of the main meals was missing and, because we had travelled some way to collect, it wasn't feasible to go back - leaving one of us with virtually nothing to eat and £8 wasted. Turning to the quality - the hot and sour soup, which was supposed to be mixed meat and veg had literally NO meat in it. The salt and pepper chicken had pretty much no chicken in it - it was just scraps of batter. Overall, a very poor experience.

The best satay I've had in a life gleefully filled with satay. The service was excellent. I would recommend this place.

If you're surprised by the price, there's a reason.. Barring in mind we only got chips and gravy/curry with prawn crackers, they didn't take like they were expected to! The sauces as well as the prawn crackers tasted factory made, not something you'd expect from a takeaway like this. Sorry, but I'll stick to Newcastle!

The food was good and the prawn crackers were the best I have ever had. I hope to visit again someday but I live to far away to make it a regular thing.
