We were extremely pleased to have engaged with Ed and Better Living Space on a large extension to our house (which completed over a year ago!). His designs and ideas were in keeping with ours which made the process seamless and straight forward. He was extremely professional, detailed, thorough and flexible during the whole process. He was instrumental in taking his designs through planning for us, and helped us tremendously with clarifications during the building phase. These guys are absolutely amazing. Ed has been extremely patient, amazingly knowledgeable, super friendly and very pragmatic - I cannot recommend BLS enough - Wish I had found them before wasting lot's of money on other so called 'architect' and 'structural engineer' - These guys are a 1st class all in one package.

We recently received planning permission for a single storey extension, thanks to the help and advice of Better Living Space. The process was smooth, due to Ed’s knowledge of local planning restrictions and structural considerations, and the due diligence exercise that he recommended was worth doing to avoid any nasty surprises later on. Ed took the time to answer any questions or concerns we had, and to suggest practical solutions, and we’re really happy with the final design.

We were recommended Ed through a trusted local builder who has worked on several projects with him. We had our initial plans drawn up by an architect but it was Ed who has truly brought them to life and finessed every detail while incorporating a few extra things after listening to our needs and wants. His business manner and his general character is better than you would hope for when dealing with a project that is so personal like your home. He is very approachable and listens. We used Ed for a full house renovation and extension of our bungalow into a modern flat roofed house. Ed is a truly innovative and out of the box thinker. He was able to take our conceptual design and turn it into a reality. Ed brought new ideas, such as increasing our ceiling height, as well as a thorough approach to the structural engineering aspects of our project. Also importantly Ed coached us through the planning and restrictive convents aspects of our project. His disruptive thinking and positive mindset meant that we always found a way through these potential obstacles.

BetterLivingSpace was great at helping us navigate the planning maze that is Guildford Council. As we live in the green belt, it was quite difficult obtaining approval for our extension, but BLS was incredibly helpful, creative and persistent and managed it in the end. Great service, really happy with the result, can’t recommend them enough.
