Fine Tune Piano

What a pleasure it was to have Chris tune our 1950s piano. He gave us a fascinating potted history of our particular instrument while he worked, and the piano has never sounded better. As a bonus, he tested his work with a rendition of a Beethoven sonata, which was a joy to hear.

Wow! My much loved, bruised and battered John Broadwood has been transformed! My piano was so out of tune, I had stopped playing it. I am amazed at the improvement, it sounds fantastic. Chris is very professional and I'd highly recommend him to anyone looking for a piano tuner.

A great experience - I live in a challenging street (very narrow, on a steep hill with very little pavement) but they still managed to get the piano into my house without a scratch on it! Excellent service and now my piano is sat safely in my house

I had recently acquired an out of tune piano with some sticking keys. Everything about my experience of Fine Tune Piano was excellent. It was easy to book an appointment online, Christopher confirmed the aappointment in advance, arrived at the promised time, was friendly, repaired the keys and the piano is now in tune! Chris Hacking came recommended by Roberts Pianos Oxford. From the start he showed professionalism and efficiency, always responding to questions either by telephone or email. The supporting email and website is very efficient and ensures the client knows exactly what is to be expected. Reminders of impending appointment details are sent by Email and text messages are sent regularly. The service itself, from the outset again, very professional - he came at the agreed time, having travelled some distance and immediately started assessing the Ibach baby grand piano. Throughout his 7 hour service call he was very interested in the instrument and any questions were answered with enthusiasm. Chris also took great care during the difficult COVID-19 conditions to ensure all safety measures were observed.It was a pleasure to see a craftsman at work showing honest care using both traditional tools and hi-tech equipment - thoroughly fascinating. My piano has been serviced and voiced and now produces a lovely rich full tone. We are so pleased with the beautiful Yamaha we recently bought from Fine Tune Piano.We were looking for a quality acoustic piano to replace our (very old) digital Yamaha and were really impressed with the wrap-around service provided by Chris.We visited his showroom in Abergavenny, where he made us very welcome, gave us plenty of time to try all the pianos in stock, and was on hand to answer all our questions.Knowing that Chris sources his pianos personally, checks them over, and conducts any repairs needed before putting them up for sale, gave us peace of mind that we would be buying a quality instrument.Also, the fact that delivery, a stool, and first tuning were included in the price, meant we would be all set up to enjoy our new piano with minimum fuss.Chris and Dylan delivered the piano within the week and took the utmost care of both the instrument and the house - they are lovely people too!Going forward, we feel we now know a reliable expert to tune our beloved piano and recommend Fine Tune Piano wholeheartedly.Thank you Chris and Dylan!

Chris had a very professional and friendly approach to the piano repair and tuning. He clearly has all the right kit to tackle repairs - for example, putting the piano on its back to tackle the bottom castors. He has tuned the piano to 'perfect pitch' and it is now singing wonderfully.
