Amazing riding school with excellent teachers and lovely horses. They do group lessons which really feels like a private lesson as every rider has a dedicated person helping them. Highly recommended!

Astonishingly disgraceful experience. Most of the staff here are nice. However, my daughter’s last lesson here ended with her in the hospital with an injured hip, after falling off a horse. Now I understand this is something that can happen but the treatment towards my daughter of that entire lesson caused her stress and the aftercare was nonexistent. From the get-go, the instructor (female owner of the farm) had a horrible and bitter attitude. My daughter has Tourette’s which can be triggered by stress and the farm are aware of this. The owner made several rude comments to my daughter such as “do you have a language problem” in front of the entire group (as she pulled the horse and my daughter on it aggressively to the middle).Once my daughter fell off the horse, the owner failed to provide any aftercare in such an incident. Instead she tried to rush her back onto the horse to finish the lesson. My daughter was shocked and speechless. We intervened and did not allow my daughter back on the horse as she was not ok and began crying.Pictured is the aftermath of my daughter in hospital with an injured hip.The owner, nor anyone at the farm, has contacted us since with an apology or even the slightest bit of concern for my daughter. It goes without saying that we won’t be returning and I would NOT recommend this place. The owner has no compassion or people-skills and should be kept away from students, especially children.

The most amazing riding stables ever!!! Very well kept horses with experienced teachers and helpers, lovely ponies in many shapes and sizes and a boss who runs it all like a clockwork and will get you riding the perfect horse for every stage of the journey as you improve. They care about the animals very much, horses clearly come as first priority, and it is easy to tell they are happy and trusting. I have been going for riding lessons weekly for two years now and plan to carry on for as long as they will have me!

Amazing Farm and Riding Stables. Staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. They encourage all riders to become confident to ride alone in a group. Their products (homemade goats soap, jams, chutneys etc are lovely) Highly recommend Monach Farm!!

We searched and visited a number of riding stables in the area, and Monarch Farm came up by far, the most welcoming and most professional. They also have fantastic facilities and a wide variety of horses.ABRS Accredited, they have great success teaching beginners of all ages, my 60 year old mother and 5 year old daughter included with great patience but also a real 'can do' attitude that builds rider confidence and genuine rider technique. However, as a more experienced rider, having ridden horses of all shapes, sizes and capabilities across 3 continents since I was 5, I was looking for a riding school that could also teach a higher level of riding , and the incredibly experienced school instructor/owner Emily has given me just that! After taking a 4 year break to have 2 children, I have worked my way back up to where I left off within 6'months, riding horses that challenge my capabilities but also generously reward me when I get it right! This is a legitimate riding school that will teach you on and off the saddle, with kind natured horses. As a farm you can also pick up some lovely organic farm produce, as well as organic soaps and hand creams to keep the winter out of your skin!

I have been learning to ride here for over a year and have enjoyed it. Starting out as a pretty nervous adult who had never ridden before, I have grown in confidence supported by a fabulous team. I love riding and coming to Monarch farm is the highlight of my week. Thanks particularly to Hazel who been an amazing teacher. You should also give their soap a try, it's the only soap that doesn't dry out my hands :)
