Portlethen Medical Centre

Been a patient here for 25 years. Excellent service up untill the past 18 months or so. Constant cancelled (phone) appointments and extended timeline reviews without advice as to reason, etc. Medical treatment remains first class but admin is abysmal.

I have attended a few practices in Aberdeenshire, in my personal experience I consider Portlethen Surgery a good example of excellent practice. As a patient of Portlethen Surgery for some 18 months, I have found reception staff to be friendly and helpful, I have not found an issue in making appointments nor in receiving information requests for supporting evidence required for two medically related applications (one for medical insurance the other for the DWP). The wait times at Portlethen Surgery are not excessive in comparison to the experiences that my family and friends are receiving at other surgeries across the City and Shire. The support and assistance from each GP and each Nurse/Nurse Practitioner has been well considered and the correct way forward. This is not only for myself though also for my teenage daughter. I would be reluctant to change surgery again now that I feel supported by Portlethen Medical Centre. I write this as a disabled person with a complex medical history hence feel that I am in a position to offer a genuine and honest review.

Worse doctors ever!! The women on reception refused to let me speak to practice manager she also divulged my friends information to me. I will be speaking to the GMC about this practice as they have neglected a member of my family. Caroline at reception is the rudest most condescending person I have spoke to. She should be fired from speaking to people they way she did.I asked several times to speak to practice manager but she refused. Dr Blake better get in touch about this behaviour I will be taking this matter further.

Local medical centre, recently extended. Plenty of parking spaces outside. Farmacy next door. Good amount of doctors and nurses. Front desk staff friendly and helpful, self checking machine. Small play area for kids. I have been a patient here for 17 years, i can honestly say that i have not had any bad experiences. I try to see Dr Browne if i have any problems, i think seeing the same doctor is an advantage. I have found that ANY staff i deal with are fantastic. Thank you all.Lawrence Leaper.

all staff work incredibly hard and are always polite and professional and go out of their way to help whenever me or my husband has contacted the practice, we are very lucky in this climate to have access to a surgery as professional as thiswell done portlethen

Terrible reception. I called in before to make different appointments , one was for my mental health and I kept being told to call in at every start of the month to make my appointment, and I was never able to even make one. Another was for an emergency appointment, the receptionist technically blamed me for not calling them during the morning to make the appointment for the emergency, when I told them that I am very busy with work especially being short staffed and not being able to go on my phone for a call, they told me to call in the next morning and said they highly doubt I will even get my appointment then, telling me this in a very rude manner.I simply gave up and now changing practises.As for the doctors, one I was in for was interrupting me alot when I was speaking, I was trying to explain why I feel like I may have different mental health disorders, but they kept interrupting me and not letting me explain everything, and with worse cases i get asked “And what do you want us to do?”, like I dont know, help me and do your job?

This practice has served me and my family for the past 30 years and I have the utmost respect for their professionalism at all levels. I have always been able to access medical assistance when needed. They are excellent.Some people will never be happy.

Very nice medical centre with great staff, doctors and an on site pharmacy. I'll be back.

They don’t offer appointments for cervical screening if there isn’t one available that week, told to call every week to try and get one.
