It's a lovely well preserved Victorian cemetery built around a small gothic chapel.

An amazing cemetery with lots of interesting local history hidden away in it. If you get the opportunity go on one of the guided cemetery tours which are held a few times each year by the Friends of Layton Cemetery. These are very well researched and in a couple of hours they will take you on a journey through time recounting stories of heroes, villains, show biz stars, the rich and the poor, and the famous and not so well known. You'll find out about local and distant tragedies, and many of the people who built Blackpool and have roads named after them.

Big green space on Talbot Road, graves & paths kept in good condition. A good place to walk with benches to sit & contemplate or eat lunch. A living history of graves well worth a visit. Limited parking at entrance.

Visited to pay our respects at Joe Longthorne’s grave and found a huge cemetery with so many beautiful headstones as far as the eye can see with Blackpool Tower in the background. The cemetery was peaceful and well maintained with plenty of trees around the land.

We came from Canada for a holiday and while in Blackpool we began a search for my father's family grave. He never found it but did have a note with the grave site number. It was not that easy but a wonderful woman called Polly at the Carleton Cemetery took us step by tiny step until she and we found it. It was a wonderful experience. The Atkinson family grave with 14 people in it is now being tended.
