Fantastic surgery. For both myself, partner and daughter (who has severe complex needs). The receptionists are always helpful despite the place being busy on a regular basis. The GP's and nursing staff are always patient and understanding. My family is always well cared for at Stonehill.

Not impressed with reception. Always been bad never answer phone you are better dropping in to speak to them. Had them before. You can't get another doctors to take on in farnworth it's just them accepting new patients. Doctors are quite good just receptionists. Taken 4 week next week for a doctor to sign a letter for a bus pass. Ridiculous as it is already with greater manchester travel. Been waiting since end of February when it expired.

Appointment at 9:15 I arrived 8:55… check in… 4 minutes passed and I heard my name! 5 minutes later I was sorted out! Awesome! Keep it up.

I can only comment from personal experience. The staff at the surgery have been amazing caregivers over recent years. Through my dad's journey with long Covid, my mum's impending knee replacement surgery and my own anxiety disorder the team work hard and do their best in often difficult circumstances.

Absolutely appalling service. Long phone winded phone menu to spend over half an hour on hold to be told there are no appointments for a week when you are in agony and literally can't move and are told back pain (from an injury not just something thar is ongoing and they are already aware of) isn't a medical urgency. They would put a request in to doctor for some stronger tablets but no guarantee I would get any and if I did, it would be two days before they were ready. I had already explained that over the counter strength codeine wasnt touching the pain, which you aren't supposed to take for more than 3 days without seeing a doctor as they can become addictive, but what can you do if you have to wait a week for an appointment because you are told it doesn't warrant an emergency one? The highly trained receptionist who can sign post you to the right course of action" asked no questions about whether there was any numbness or tingling in the legs etc (which could indicate something more serious). When I was having a miscarriage (which is an emotional enough situation as it is) I was told to "leave it a few days and ring back" so i just took myself to the early pregnancy centre at the hospital. No wonder so many people just turn up at A and E. They are going to miss something really serious with someone soon. You're reminded more than once that calls are recorded and they have the right to put the phone down on you

Stonehill medical centre should not be in practice after contacting you after Christmas with an eye infection you diagnosed me with conjunctivitis over the phone! I had already told you I had been using the eye drops and didn’t work you didn’t listen you insisted I give them another try a week later I rang again yet again you refused to look at my eyes and tried to send me to an emergency optician there were no appointments! After another week I rang again 3rd time shock horror you gave me a face to face appointment you then diagnosed me with blepharitis today 2 days later I have ended up at Bolton a and e because the swelling on my face around my eyes has got worse today I was informed YOU should have prescribed me antibiotics as I have also got a skin infection which you failed to notice on my face to face appointment you should have looked at my eyes on day 1 of me contacting you instead you have allowed the infection to get worse you really are a horrible practice and I have now decided to complain through PALS I will also be contacting the ombudsman and register at at Frederick street as from what I’ve been told they have doctors that are qualified and actually want to help patients

This place makes me feel ill, nobody answers the phone, when you get through you can wait 45 mins then it cuts off and your back to square one,the receptionists are full off their own importance. When you've paid national insurance all your working life ,then get treated like this its disgusting. They ask you to give 48 hrs notice for a change or cancellation of appointments, or should you need very important tests done, that they remind you of. Yet they don't have appointments for weeks on end. Your lucky should you actually be able to get through. To top it off! Ms Receptionist thinks they have the right to say if you can speak or see the gp. Not to forget, if you are able to get an appointment because the GP is very busy. The waiting room is empty. What???

We couldn’t ask for a better Practice. I have consistently found all the reception staff to be efficient and very empathetic. Both the doctors and the nursing team deliver a highly professional service. Even during the height of the pandemic I was still proactively contacted by the practice for health prevention screening. I have always been given timely appts with the clinicians for my daughter and myself. If the phone lines are busy and you have to wait to be dealt with, it’s because the reception staff are dealing with another patient who needs that time to explain their problem. I am confident that when it’s your turn, you too will be given the time and responded to in a kindly manner. Stonehill has been our Practice for over twenty years and never once has the service they provide let me down.
