My son and stopped at The grouse inn for some lunch on our walks around the peak District. I had muddled meats salad and my son had vegetable soup which he loved. There was a roaring fire and a lovely welcome to the wet and windy weather. Lovely little find.

The pub's appeal is hindered by a consistently unwelcoming experience, particularly due to the condescending behaviour of one of the lady staff members.This has made me hesitant about frequenting the establishment despite being a local resident, as I know many others feel the same way in our area.She is rude, condescending and unwelcoming.I, my friends and family will not be returning. Such a shame.It’s a shame, as with a welcoming staff and good hospitality this place would be perfect.She is simply not suited for a customer service role.

Lunch out today with a friend, making three different choices. All excellent in every way. 'Small' lunch was more than adequate. I wouldn't have identified any of our lunches as Small if I hadn't known! Thank you Grouse Staff.

Just called in for a couple of pints on Sunday lunch. Very busy. The steak pie smelled delicious. Intend to go there one weekday lunchtime for pie!

The homemade Steak and Ale pie I always have when I go here is absolutely amazing and very tasty the staff and atmosphere of this place is perfect. I highly recommend this place
