Grafton Academy of Fashion Design

I did the one year intensive course at Grafton a few years ago and recently came back, as I found the notes I had taken at Grafton were by far the best I had come across. The skills I learnt at Grafton years ago are still serving me today and the tutors are incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. I would definitely recommend any of their courses to anyone thinking about studying pattern drafting/sewing/dressmaking/tailoring!

While working abroad, l returned home in the late 80s to find my mum had enrolled on course at the Grafton Academy. My late mum was in her mid 50s back then, but trained as a seamstress from the age of 15 and worked for various clothing factories in her past. Despite her age and perhaps the eldest on the course, she was able to assist younger students on using sewing machines and techniques. The course tutors helped her to be more flamboyant and flourish in dress design.

I'm doing the 15 week pattern drafting course. It's an excellent investment to my dressmaking skills. Karen is a fantastic teacher. I'm very satisfied with how things are going. This course is helping me understand historical patterns.

Just amazing what my daughter has learned during these 2 years at afternoon and saturdays classes.She is currently doing by herself very astonishing dresses
