I completed my 6 week program with James and immediately signed up for more sessions to carry on making the progress I had made in the first 6 weeks alone. When I first started I had no idea how to do any strength training whatsoever, I believed cardio was the only way to loose fat and look “toned”. However after my first chat with James he helped me understand how important it was for me to focus on being stronger in order to achieve my idea body goals. I never thought I could be one of those “gym girls” but I can happily admit that since finishing the program I now enjoy showing up to my strength sessions. Being on the program not only helped me to do an exercise correctly but also made me feel accountable to show up for every session. This allowed me to have a routine which I’m still able to stick to even after finishing the program. James not only helped me feel confident in the gym but was also super understanding when certain exercises didn’t make any sense at the beginning. Starting the program has been the best decision I made for myself. I look forward to continue everything I’ve learnt from James and carry on being stronger and leaner :)

James is focused on helping me achieve my goals and makes every session challenging (and somehow fun). My fitness has increased noticeably and I’ve seen improvements in my ability to complete more core exercises, lift progressively heavier weights & generally push myself harder throughout each session. He ensures that my technique is always correct to avoid any injuries, is always very encouraging and has a vast knowledge of his profession. I find I am actually looking forward to my workouts.James is extremely reliable and punctual, outcome focused and passionate about what he does. The sessions are run in a relaxed yet supportive environment.If motivation, flexibility, and a personal approach is what you're looking for in a PT, then James is the man for you!

When I first started looking for a personal trainer I was out of shape and unfit. Three years previously I had been a group exercise instructor (part –time) and had an excellent level of fitness. Unfortunately I became unwell with Guillain-Barre Syndrome and unable to walk. After such a debilitating illness I had to learn to walk again and recovery and rehabilitation took 12months. However I struggled to regain my fitness and I gained weight and unwanted body fat.When I approached James in August (2017) I was unconfident and out of shape. He listened to my goals and carefully built a programme suited to my needs – acutely aware of my journey. He suggested how I could make better food choices and train more effectively in the week and was extremely motivating in his approach. Building intensity slowly.I have been working with James for over 3 months now. The result is that I have dropped a clothes size and fit into my 32 inch jeans with ease, I am leaner and toned- friends and family have commented on how leaner I look and how much happier and confident I am in myself. I have almost regained the fitness level I had before my illness and I am stronger. I enjoy my workouts and regained my enjoyment of fitness. James knows his stuff and I feel I have gained knowledge in how to target the muscles I am working on – through illness and bad habits my posture is poor and James is working to improve this with me.If you are looking for a personal trainer who practices what he preaches, is attentive, knows his subject inside out and passionate about his job – then look no further than James at a very competitive price too!

I had lost my motivation of going to the gym for a long time.Every day was a struggle for me, especially with the day to day routine, which unfortunately can take over if you let it.When I found James I was in desperate need of help and some guidance in order to bring myself back.I could not be happier with the results, as he has been nothing but, efficient, extremely flexible, approachable, caring and a great motivator with lots of knowledge.He taught me some of his techniques that worked and kept monitoring the actual exercises to ensure I was doing it correctly, and when my body was about to get tired, he managed to find the last bit of strength in me, making me feel a lot better from day one, not only physically but mentally too.For that reason I highly recommend him, whatever your goals are, if in doubt, have a word with James to try and get you back on track.Whatever you do, I would advise you to just start it as oppose to delaying it, It may seem hard to begin with but with his help, in time it’ll be a lot easier for you.He can also give you some tips on food routine in order to help you achieve your goal even faster.Thank you once again James for being so great, and I am glad I was able to find someone of your calibre.

I have been getting personal training sessions for many months with James and I have gotten noticeably stronger and leaner! As well as achieving my goals, I have learnt so much to take with me outside of the sessions and apply in the gym myself! James does a great job to tailor the session according to likes and dislikes (… I have my fair share of dislikes!) in a way that will still have the same benefits and results. And the sessions are super fun :) highly recommend to anyone!

I work long hours at a desk all day and having got to the age where my metabolism has slowed down and woke up one day and realised I was looking a bit too healthy" in all the wrong areas!I found James and we have been training with for over a year now. In that time I have lost a stone in weight and am feeling much more healthy (but in the right places!).He is extremely knowledgeable

If anyone is thinking about 1:1 or group training to get themselves fit, they should seriously consider James Richardson Fitness. Being in my mid- fifties and barely having used a gym, or had any prior fitness coaching, I was somewhat reluctant to start. But due to the pandemic and seeing elderly people in my family deteriorate, I learned the best safeguard against disease was being fit, so I finally signed up with James Richardson and am glad I did. James has an amazing wealth of knowledge which he imparts piecemeal so you don't get overwhelmed. Rather then give me directives and expect me to remember and follow everything he said, he personally showed me what to do and we practically did the exercises together. Another thing that impressed me was his ability to observe and assess my strengths and weaknesses accurately. He asked me to lift a 40kg weight which I thought was impossible, but he showed me how to do it, and guided me me while lifting, and I ended up lifting it! On another occasion he asked me to do a certain number of press-ups and I managed exactly that number and no more!So far I've only mentioned the physical side, but James says that behind every physical action there is a mental action" and he teaches you how to think about your body and how to change your mindset to get your body to do what you want it to do. Communication is key in this industry and James has always been there to help me through the tough times. Im not new to the gym and by no means, and know how to workout and diet, but sometimes i just need someone to tell me what to do to better myself as i listen to their ways rather then my own.James is a top proffesional trainer and lots of good knowledge to go with it as well. A Reps Level 3 Certificate doesnt mean anything really it does take years after to progress yourself and James has done just that, so give him a try you wont regret it

My experience on the Leaner & Stronger programme with James has been invaluable! I joined in order to tone up & get fitter, having been a member of the gym for many years there were areas of it I dare not tread due to nerves or not knowing how. James is so knowledgeable & encouraging, he filled me with confidence, helped me build strength I didn’t know I had and advised me on where I was going wrong nutritionally. After the 12 week programme I have lost nearly 2 inches off my waist, feel comfortable in my body & no longer feel nervous using equipment at the gym. I highly recommend James as trainer and will be calling on his services again when I’m ready to take my fitness to the next level!
