We had a very good dinner at Audela earlier this week. The food was very good - well prepared, well presented and very enjoyable. Our wine was good too.The service was excellent and special thanks to the waitress who served us - she worked so hard. Thoroughly recommended.

The best Sunday lunch!!! Highly recommend. Quite high priced but you do get what you pay for. It didn't stop me having 3 courses instead of 2 as it was so delicious. Very attentive staff.

Lovely Sunday Lunch as a Birthday treat for 4 people. My only comment is that menu is not that varied with only 3 choices for starters & mains.Great and friendly service, lovely atmosphere and modern decor in the restaurant. A hidden gem.

Quite simply put - some of the best food I've ever eaten. Worth every penny.Just go.Last night...Starter - scallops as they should be; caught on the outside and buttery smooth the centre. The risotto was creamy and delicious.Main: the halibut - it is the king of fish and was absolutely stand out.We came again tonightStarter: the confit chicken was extraordinary - crispy skin, and deep almost earthy meat.Main: roe deer - deep rich flavours across the plate.Cheese - all local (ish)No photos tonight.

My wife and I eat at Audela perhaps 2 or 3 times a year and without exception it's always fantastic.Yes, it's probably the most expensive place to eat in Berwick, but not only is it a proper 'occasion' to eat there, the food is fabulously prepared, presented and served. The interior of the restaurant is also just lovely and it has a nice vibe - plus, it's dog friendly.Ingredients are fresh and locally sourced, while the drinks menu features a good range of wine, fizz, spirits and beer. The vegetables in particular are always great. The portion sizes are perfectly pitched such that three courses are just perfect without feeling you've over indulged.I'm vegetarian and while the menu is limited the choices are always delicious - the twice baked soufflé is fantastic plus it's always worth having a chat to see if Craig, the chef can rustle something else up for you.And should the treacle tart be on the desert menu, just make sure you leave some space for it. It's the best thing ever. In fact start with the treacle tart and work backwards :-)Finally, you've got The Barrels and The Curfew just a few metres away should you fancy a good pint plus a walk around the walls to burn it all off.

Well first of all I think a venue talking about being high end and with high end prices should have a high end level of service. Let's start with someone answering the phone to book a table. I got an answer  phone message asking me to email reservations and they will get back to me in 24 hours. To be honest not good enough when I am looking for a table the same evening. I am still waiting a response days after. I would expect a high end establishment to have a much better on line presence and booking system, which would at least tell me whether a table is available or not. I would rather know that the answer is 'no table' than be left in limbo. Even with an email system I would expect a response within a much quicker time as emails are virtually instant and can be directed to and checked on any device, so yes I would have expected better. We were found a table due to someone who did not attend which was great. The service was good. However a word to the wise. I totally  accept that locals and regulars are important to any business  and you do need to look after them. But please make it less obvious that they are getting a different and better level of service. It was certainly obvious to my table that the tables around me got a little bit extra, extra bread to soak up that sauce, larger portions of the amuse bouche, and offered larger  slices of the deserts. This potentially means I am paying more or getting a smaller portion. I absolutely get looking after regulars, but make it much less obvious as it makes you feel inferior, and we may actually be your next regulars and certainly may be an influencer to others. The food was well cooked and presented if a little pricey. The clams with chorizo peas and Broad beans was very nice although the sauce lacked a bit of depth . The cod was well cooked. The steak was a bit on the small side and a little on the rare side for a medium rare, the sauce a bit over reduced so slightly too salty.Another issue is the sample menu on the website es and costs vary, but then please update your sample menu on the website to make it more realistic to the actual prices you are currently charging. I think that is only fair to your customers, to ensure you give them a reasonable idea of potential prices. Not a bad restaurant, but not one I would be running back to.To others,  I would say give it a go for something special, but be aware it is high end prices.

We had an amazing Sunday lunch at Audela. This included a perfect scallop starter, roast beef main and delicious desserts. Despite being relatively busy the owner took time to talk to us about the business, her husband chef and our son who is also a young chef. A perfect meal and and great service

I cannot rate here high enough. The food and service was amazing. Everything cooked and presented perfectly. We went in late on a Sunday and had the set menu. The food was such high quality and the price was really good too. We both had the monkfish for our main and I can honestly say that I've never tasted better. We will definitely be back on our next visit.
