This is a prime example of your tax money going to waste. These investigators can complete and finish investigations without speaking to witnesses. If Gerhard is your investigator I would recommend you request someone more competent.I really hope these investigators are on minimum wage for doing the bare minimum of work, that's if they did anything at all because they are unable to answer simple questions about the investigation they have apparently completed.

The police ombudsman themselves should be investigated I reported a psni officer stationed at Ballymena for misconduct and I had plenty of proof I thought this is it a cut and dry case but the police ombudsman was on the crooked psni officers side, how can you win, and what kind of message is this sending out, the psni can do whatever they like and get away with it. Shame on the police ombudsman.

Got run over by a car, from a stationary position the driver put her foot down and ran me over. PSNI treated it as if it was nothing. Ombudsman agreed having seen CCTV footage??? All witnesses at time were concerned for my safety. Driver hit and ran. Letter from Ombudsman didn't even inform me I could have the case reopened, just stated it was closed. The ombudsman never even contacted me for any follow up or help with investigation. One might think the guy who was hit by a car would be a useful witness, apparently not.... Appalling, disgraceful and not fit for purpose.

I have been a life-long supporter of policing and have met many great officers, but I was horrified when they refused to listen to evidence and shut down a case. I had to create around 10 PONI complaints. I discovered that PONI produces fictional accounts and impossible outcomes. That said, for the moment at least it seems PONI and the police did work together to ensure that the failings that had definitely existed before were rectified, and the case was investigated, and hopefully the right conclusions will be arrived at. I found 800 issues eg misrepresentations, lies, impossible conclusions etc in 10 reports. May never matter much as long as police were persuaded to do the right thing in the end.

I actually thought all these reviews were inaccurate and went into an encounter with the Police Ombudsman with a pretty open mind. I couldn't have been more wrong: they are inept and useless. The first thing the Police Ombudsman do is try and get you to drop your complaint. They send you sternly worded letters saying if you don't reply within a certain (quite short) amount of time they will discontinue the complaint. If you persist you get passed onto an over the hill Investigator who will twist your words, fail to take your complaint seriously, ignore evidence you present and generally do everything in their power to make the complaint go away with zero action against the police. If you complain to the Police Ombudsman you get condescending and patronising letters from senior" Investigating Officers who have zero interest in doing anything and attempt to sweep the entire issue under the carpet and protect the status quo.Best of all if you present documentary evidence that the Police Ombudsman Investigators have been negligent and failed to investigate your initial complaint the Police Ombudsman tell you their findings are final and they have no appeal mechanism. The worst thing of all is that I am educated and articulate and tried everything not to let them away with it: despite this they still delivered a negligent and ridiculous service. What are they getting away with doing on vulnerable people? People who don't know how the Law works or how the criminal justice system operates? The Police Ombudsman of Northern Ireland is a disgrace."

Totally useless organisation which serves no purpose that it was founded for. They are very quick to close cases against the PSNI without any actual resolution being given. USELESS

The sole aim and purpose of this organisation is to gather information in order to ascertain how much evidence a complainant has against PSNI. They then assess whether the complainant is likely to sue PSNI. They then pass this information onto PSNI and suggest an “informal resolution”. I would advise anyone with a complaint to give as little information as possible to these people. Instead; give your information to your solicitor. More people need to take civil action against the PSNI or else things will only get worse. Which is hard to imagine; but possible.

A very strange scenario that Marie Anderson cannot confirm or deny what has or has not taken place domestically. For someone holding the Police to account it appears she in turn is unaccountable. Transparent, open and honest. It would seem not. Can’t wait for the officers body worn cameras to enter the public area.
