Debrett Fires

Great service - took out old gas fireplace and ugly giant surround, opened up the fireplace, put in a new flue, and installed a Burley Debdale log burner and slate hearth. Slightly disrupted by snow (install was March 2023!), but all worked out in the end, and had a month or so of use before the weather got too hot for it. Really looking forward to getting more use of it this winter. Definitely would recommend, and hope to be using them again soon to finish things off with a nice beam.

Can't rate this lovely family business highly enough. Debrett fires were recommended to us by another tradesman who was working at our house , from the minute I walked into the shop to the log burner being fitted nothing was too much trouble. I purchased a matt black fire trim and the pre- and post-sales service provided by Debretts was excellent but note ...... I was replacing a worn and dirty brass trim and the wall around the trim was damaged by the removal of the previous trim. On the advice of Debretts I installed the new trim using heat-resistant mastic which worked well. To protect the trim from the mastic and the subsequent emulsion with which I painted the surrounding wall, I used a standard, light-adhesive masking tape. When I came to remove the tape, some of the paint came with it and I now have to repaint the trim with heat-resistant paint.This is clearly NOT the fault of Debretts but the manufacturer was, apparently, pretty unapologetic and I am left wondering just how thin the layer of paint was and how it would have stood up to being occasionally being knocked as we add a log or two to the fire.I would have expected the paint to have been applied in such a way that it would NOT come off with simple masking tape as I would have expected this to be quite a common procedure.

These guys have a beautiful selection of fires and have something for all tastes. I fell in love with mine immediately and got it for a good price, there’s no way I would have got the same quality of fire for the price I did, believe me I looked! They will go above and beyond to help and accommodate you. Can’t recommend them enough!

Fabulous service from start to finish, information of what available for my sized room, type of log burners available. The fitting was trouble free, and cleaned up after fitting. Outstanding service. I needed a replacement trim & fret. Francesca was so very helpful in resolving, what was not a standard replacement. I sent her pictures of existing trim, fret & fire surround, with measurements & she very kindly came up with a solution. Thank you Francesca for your exceptional service, which in today's market, is a rarity!
