Our 1973 MGB needed an engine rebuild and eventually, after many phone calls Halesowen Engines was recommended. Spoke to Steve who gave a very competetive quote which included collecting the car. This was organise swiftly. We were invited to go and inspect the work in progress at any time, which we did. When we went to collect the car the battery turned out to be knackered and wouldn't hold a charge. Steve popped up the road and fetched a new battery and fitted it immediately.We were very impressed by the whole experience.Unfortunately about 500 miles down the line the engine blew a core plug, lost all coolant and got very hot. It didn't appear that terminal damage had occurred so called Halesowen Engines on the monday and explained what had happened. They arranged transport for the next day and the work was complete by the end of the following day. The only damage incurred was the head gasket blown. Core plug and head gasket replaced and we were just charged for the transport which we felt was very fair.Friendly and helpful. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

I didn't use the service but would like to say how grateful that I am that Phil spent 30+ minutes on the phone with me when my van broke down. I had been referred to Halesowen Engines for a possible engine rebuild when my van broke down. Phil spent the time to listen to all the symptoms and he thought it might not need an engine rebuild and just a DFP clean. Even though it was clear there would be no custom to Halesowen, Phil spent the time to help and then referred me to a garage that did fix my van, and Phil's initial diagnosis was correct. Thank you.

When I needed advice about a top end rattle on a high mileage engine, Steve was great - he listened, diagnosed, enquired about the way the car is used and recommended a cost-efficient solution. Very good service from a knowledgeable engineer - highly recommended. I will definitely use Halesowen Engines again.

Extremely unhappy with the service provided from start to finish.I'm no professional mechanic but have worked on my own vehicles for 35 years.after my head gasket had failed I phoned to ask how quick they could skim the head ready for repair, I was told normally, next day.Based on this I took the head down to them and was quoted £99 for skim, lapping the values, new stem seals and pressure test.i later was informed that lapping the values was not included, but they would vac test. I accepted this and told them to continue.The normally next day" turned into 5 days.I collected the head today (£90 not £99) and took it to my unit to clean out ahead of refitting. in cleaning it

Halesowen engines did a complete engine rebuild march 2022 on my BMW 116d after the timing chain failed, engine wouldn’t start after rebuild they couldn’t work out why it had to go to a BMW specialist 18 weeks later I got it back ,it broke down after three months but they wasn’t very helpful and they still haven’t gave me an invoice to prove I’ve had the work done. Not a happy customer

Recommend to anyone top class work and really good prices and direct and to the point. Done several subaru heads for me aswell as bore and honing.

Steve and the guys really know their game. Took a while to get the dreaded eco boom B max booked in for a timing belt change.But once there, the service and communication was top drawer.Sorry it's took so long to review,would certainly use again would highly recommend the lads, well done.

Got me in at short notice, sorted a damaged spark plug thread quickly, and efficiently. Would definitely recommend.
