Q Care
Avoid this company as an employee at all costs. Recently an employee was suspended for gross misconduct to which he strongly denied the allegations.Employee was suspended without pay and was invited to a disaplinary hearing later down the line which he could not attend. This was not re-arranged to which the meeting went ahead in his absence and he was dismissed.Employee wrote an email outlining issues with the process and outlined he was never sent any information to launch his appeal asked for a second appeal to which Qcare agreed and a second appeal invite letter was sent to the employee.Employee asked qcare to provide ahead of this appeal all copies of evidence that it relied on which should of been sent along with fact finding meeting notes before the first appeal which they failed to do. Along with this the employee asked for all copies of witness statements to be sent and more information on specific allegations as these were very vague.Employee received an email back asking why he wants this information and they stated clearly in the email they had already sent this to the employee previous and this was not being sent again. Employee sent email back stating clearly that he had never received such information previous as claimed by the employer.Second appeal meeting came and went employee still has no information to launch his appeal and defend himself against such serious allegations.Employee sent email once again to qcare outlining the fact he still had not received such information and once again questioned when this had been sent originally. Ironically the employer responds backtracking on the fact it had sent this information by now claiming the employee had seen this information after the fact finding meeting. Once again qcare agreed a 3rd appeal meeting and asked the employee to outline what information he wanted even though this had been outlined twice previous?Employee stated once again he wanted1. Fact finding meeting notes2. All witness statements3. Copy of employment contract4. Companies disaplinary and grievance policy5. More information on these serious allegations as its so vague. This was sent last Monday to which the employer has not acknowledged this as yet or even sent the 3rd appeal meeting letter as agreed in email. Its very concerning that qcare has suddenly created its own code of immoral practice rather than adherein to ACAS code of practice. I find it absolutely disgusting that qcare refuse to send the employee information he's entitled to have to put together his appeal. Its totally impossible to appeal something you have no information of.as it stands the employee is still awaiting the information requested and 3rd appeal invite letter. This has to be the most unfair process I have ever seen let alone have it in black and white in front of me. Totally unprecedented to be on a 3rd appeal. Its a two stage process I cannot find anywhere another situation of this nature. Will be intresting to see if the employees employment contract states or disaplinary policy its right to suspend without full pay. If not this will have serious implications as its own disaplinary procedure could be seen as unfair. Not only do you do all the above the employee had money taken from their wages for property belonging to the company. Since the company has agreed all these further appeals its only fair these should of been exhausted before requesting your property back. seems been a mis-communication with payroll department. All the above has been written from emails between employer and employee. These will be available soon for whole of wales to see.

Q Care
I've seen a lot of negative reviews about Q Care which we were very apprehensive about but I can only go on mine and my families experience with them. I know they have issues as an employer but the actual staff are truly incredible. They treated our family member with the upmost dignity and respect during her end of life care in May. All the girls were amazing with my nan, made her laugh, made sure she was comfortable and even stayed longer than they should have during emergency situations. This of course pushed back other people's care which puts them in an extremely difficult position. However, they handed over to district nurses, doctors etc so professional. A lot of them are so young and deal with such difficult circumstances, as well as supporting us as a family towards the end.I agree they don't turn up at specific times, but as explained above, they don't rush with your family member and I'd much rather know they're treating the person receiving care as a human being. Appreciate this doesn't apply to time sensitive medication. We had an issue with one young girl who was very inappropriate but the office dealt with it swiftly and made sure she didn't attend again.I highly recommend them or at least the ladies who attended our family member. I can't thank them all enough and I'll never forget the support they provided us all.
