I'd like to rate the service but there wasn't any. I can't call the service rude because my wife and I were completely ignored. We bought something but even at the till they were just robotic. Never going back. #dontrecommend

Felt unwelcome and openly discriminated at this store today.Woman over 35 entering at the shop with a child, waiting at the till to ask for help and being deliberately ignored for the members of staff who were literally doing nothing and standing couple of meters away.At the beginning I did not realised what was happening but a couple of minutes was evident to me that I was being ignored. Once I was aware of this I kept waiting and observing the staff behaviour to give them the opportunity to prove me wrong, but it only clarified my impression. They were aware of me, it was impossible not to. They chose not to approach or serve me. When I finally had to call for their attention I was helped in a very unwelcoming way, I would say even rude, considering the attitude.I have lived in small and big cities around four countries, and never ever have experienced this treatment in customer service in my life! I felt openly discriminated and treated as a second class citizen having not clue why. Was it for my age? My size? My shape? My style? My color of skin? My hair? My child? Because I was a woman? My other shopping bags??? They did not have any other information about me apart from my appearance! They didn’t even say hello to have at least the advantage to hear my accent before make any conclusions… Therefore, respectable owners of Shepper&Woodward, if you do not call this discrimination, so how do you call it??? We all will appreciate to have a well deserved explanation. The worst part is that after checking the reviews of this shop, it seems that this is a persistent situation openly tolerated, if not promoted by the owners and people in charge of this business even from years ago! (Just check the reviews). Otherwise, I do not find explanation why is this still happening today. This corporative culture is a shame and absolutely unacceptable under any circumstances. I’ll make sure to write to whoever is necessary to report and make this know.

Absolutely brilliant shop. The staff were polite , efficient and extremely helpful. I told them what I was looking to achieve. They took this on board and provided me with exactly what I needed. I will definitely shop here again…. This is coming from someone who is not a fan of shopping for clothes.

Good service but they charge 22 pounds late fee for returning the gown a couple hours late. Seems so greedy, many of us are recent graduates with no job yet and now we line the pockets of this posh company with our debt amidst a cost of living crisis. I explained this but the clerk was not sympathetic at all. What a bitter end to graduation weekend. Please consider reviewing this policy, otherwise I will tell all my friends not to shop here or if they happen to be late to just keep the gown and not return it.

Ordered academic dress 2 weeks before matriculation. Specified sizes as per form. When collecting they said they had nothing in the sizes I had requested. Missed matriculation as a result. No apology.

Can’t praise this shop enough.Went in for a morning suit fitting with my best man firstly and was very well looked after by a member of staff called Max. Lovely , caring chap who went out of his way to assist. Very polite , and had us all sorted in a short space of time.Later I had to return with my future father in Law (86yrs) who can be hard work. This time we saw Ron who was just as courteous as Max and very understanding re the FIL . He was very pleased with his suit fitting and service given by Ron .Happy daysI cant recommend S&W highly enough.Shall return in due course .

I’ve been shopping at this store occasionally for 40 years. At no time have I ever been made to feel welcome. Most, if not all, of the staff possess a misplaced superiority complex. It can be summed up by an incident some years ago when I was attempting to buy a jumper. I pointed to a jumper on a high shelf, which required the assistant, already exasperated from assisting me for almost 2 minutes, to climb a small step ladder to reach said jumper. I shall never forget his words to me: “It is £60, sir.”Such attitude has been reflected in all my visits before and since, to a greater or lesser extent.
