Lovely cafe and gardens. House was shut but still nice to walk round the gardens. Cafe had nice outside seating too.

Really starting to price NT way too high, £9 to park all day a bit of a joke. We are members so no issue for us, but the whole ethos becomes questionable since covid. Castle was ok to wander around, initial film informative, wouldn't visit again though. Cafe seemed ok, gift shop overpriced.

The cafe and food are very nice but... unless you are a National Trust member parking is £2/hour. We had gone for lunch so didn't stay, 2 hours (with friend) would be the cost of a dessert. Come on NT, we don't mind paying for parking but not to pay to eat your food as well

Another wonderful national trust property with loads of history. Multiple rooms open in one wing across 2 levels. Interesting video on the history of the family and the house. Extensive parkland for walks with the dog. Some nice gardens, although nearby Holker Hall gardens are better. Large cafe right at entrance with picnic area out the front. Loads of parking free for members or pay and display.

Had vegetable soup today July 13th it was not good. The carrots were in huge lumps too large to eat, onions raw tasteless soup such a pity as soup is sooo easy to make. Waste of money train the Chef.

Decent cafe. Enjoyed a light lunch. Nice to have all the dishes using produce grown on site. Good vegan options and particularly appreciated a really filling bean soup that was enough sustenance for a long road trip.

We had a great time. Lots of tables free, both indoors and outside. Very clean and well organised. Staff were lovely and the sausage baps were great!!

Typical national trust. They cannot get enough volunteers so only one floor of rooms open - not that they tell you when you buy your ticket! Also zero information provided, so you have to ask one of the volunteers in the rooms, if you can find /get to one.Gardens are open and worth about 45 minutes interest. There are wider dog friendly walks through their farmland.
