Clack Mill Riding Stables

I do not usually write reviews but for my own integrity I feel the need to warn others about this unethical and unsafe riding school. I had my own horses growing up and had lessons with several different instructors over the years, some stricter than others. However, I have never seen the kind of abusive and outright dangerous behaviour that I saw at Clack Mill. The owner, Bonnie, openly belittles and bullies both her staff and the children who pay (!) to work for her. She screams aggressively when teaching, causing both the riders and horses to panic. When people show concern about her behaviour she behaves in a very emotionally unstable and unprofessional manner, gaslighting her customers and telling them to leave. I believe the only reason this school is still running is because all the others are booked up. I can not understand why any parent would want their child to be treated like this or to witness such abusive behaviour towards others. An appalling riding school.

Our daughter started riding lessons here aged 3 (she is now nearly 5). Bonnie is amazing with her and really gets the best out of her in terms of concentration and trying her best. We find Bonnie to be firm with rules and silly behaviour, but her praise means more because it must be genuinely earned.There is an indoor and outdoor school, and in addition to the ring there is the opportunity to do some hacking in the fields each lesson (weather depending). Bonnie and her team of helpers endeavour to make each lesson fun as well as educational, under the constraints of Health and Safety. And the ponies are lovely!We would definitely recommend this riding school to anyone looking for lessons for their children (or themself).

The instructor was miserable and argued with me even though she was wrong, just to be righteous. I have 29years experience and was taking my daughter for her first lesson. She made her feel stupid. Do not recommend

The pony’s are absolutely amazing but the people there aren’t, you will get shouted at for no reason at all!!I made the smallest mistake and I got shouted at its unbelievable! Never going here again I don’t feel welcome to this place,you get put into random groups with 4 year olds and people with diffrent ability’s. Definitely not a place for kids bonnie or other people there could definitely make the kids cry, don’t recommend at all horrible stable!I love the ponys and horses there but there stables haven’t even got any bedding or anything! Just concentrate floor!she needs to get bedding for those poor ponys and horses that work their legs off!

A nice place with lots of helpers and beautiful horses. Really nice people but can be a bit busy and crowded at times.

Very few poneys. Lessons are mixing beginners and trained horse riders...waist of time for your kids if they are used to ride. You don t feel you are welcome in this place.

Absolutely brilliant private riding session with Bonnie who was so kind and engaging with my 2 1/2 year old. Lovely simple exercises on Cammy that he could understand and beautiful setting as well. We'll be back - Thank you!
