Room great for the price (I was a single traveller in a basic room). Service excellent: quick and cheerful. Breakfast really good: a wide choice of hot and cold foods. Location, right next to the station in the city centre, can't be bettered.

Excellent city centre location, with rail / bus links very close by. Room was comfortable, great shower (but would have preferred a stand-alone shower rather than over bath). Was very hot outside, but the air-con worked a treat to cool the room. Triple glazed so no street noise, though there are vibrations like low thunder from passing trains - not a problem for me. Did not hear any noise from within the hotel. Buffet breakfast was OK - could have been hotter and veggie options have to be ordered. Friendly welcome.

Comfortable beds , got air conditioning , down side the window wasn't functional, just a glass with a blackout.Good location outside train station, parking 3 min walk from property.

Brilliant hotel lovely & quiet staff amazing specially Kelly the manager nothing was to much trouble lovely lady evening waitress Gabriella lovely girl great service & great food unfortunately it was her last shift so we wish her good luck in her new job.Food fantastic rooms lovely & clean best hotel we have stayed at & very central to everything. The hotel was evacuated because of a fire on the 4th floor at 1.18am the 1 man organising everything was very professional & the fire fighters put the fire out in 40 mins. The car park around the corner amazing price £9 for 48 hours the hotel validated our ticket instead of paying £24.We loved visiting Portsmouth we will definitely be going back & stay in this hotel.

The room was not cleaned at all as the was jelly beans, oranges and other rubbishes on the floor. The coffee mugs had stains inside and the bed clothes haven't been changed. Since previous visitor it has not been cleaned.

Strolled in for the breakfast, which you can do, without staying. £9.99 for me and my son is great value for the breakfast. Was not busy and a good choice of foods available.

Outside needs repainting. However, once inside staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean, as expected. Parking is a short walk away. And there's a convenient Tesco Express on the ground floor.Short drive to the Isle of Wight ferry

Very nice stay for the weekend! Central location in the city centre, very close to the rail station. Spacious room and comfortable beds for up to 4 people. Tasty cooked breakfast. I think it was a bit pricey for a 2-night stay though

Great central location. Ideal if you're going to the Guildhall and shops nearby. Parking deal with nearby car park 200 yards away. Only niggle was there were 5 or 6 couples waiting to check in at 14.45 and receptionist made everyone wait till the official check in time of 15:00 even though most of the rooms would have been ready. Room was clean and comfortable as always with Premier Inn. Breakfast was very good.

The room was very tired and needed some TLC. It smelt quite damp, albeit there was no sign of any leaks. The wallpaper was peeling in places, the headboard had a number of stains on it, as did the carpet. The extractor fan in the bathroom was quite noisy and made an odd gurgling noise. Room was right next to the railway line and was noisy, even with the windows closed (trains till well after midnight and started again at around 4.30am) a poor night’s sleep I’m afraid, but guess partly my fault for booking somewhere close to the railway station.I use Premier Inn regularly and have found them to be very good and great value for money, however this was the worst I’ve stayed in and hope this is not a reflection of things to come as far as the chain is concerned.
