We came here on a Sunday for lunch they offered a main menu, lunchtime and sandwich menu which was nice due to the main menu not having any vegetarian options on (no meat or fish). Our table ordered a range of dishes all were well portioned for the price and tasty. I got a brie and cranberry sandwich which felt perfect for lunchtime. From the dessert board my table ordered the cheese board and a berry cheesecake. Staff were very nice we sat in the part where dogs were allowed and it felt very cosy.

Been for a meal and yet again was not disappointed. My daughter is a fussy eater so they did exactly what she wanted which wasn’t on the menu. Nothing is too much trouble.

Not sure why we didn't expect it, but we had the most brilliant meal - the food was incomparable! We both had scallops & monkfish, with a hot shrimp dressing; we would both choose this again without hesitation. The vegetable plate was excellent - never before had curry-flavoured parsnips which were blissful. Must also say that the service from everyone was excellent and above criticism. We may not be the easiest customers, but no one was phased by our requests and accommodated them with sheer charm & obligance. This is our 'go-to' location when travelling back from Sandsend/Whitby. Many congratulations to all involved - most deserving 5*.

Bang on we called in for a pint and a snack, we were looked after well, good food and a good pint of Bradfield beer we are staying close by at Christmas and are looking forward to returning .Simon and Carole Pill

Excellent welcoming country pub in the heart of the North Yorkshire Moors national park. All the staff are extremely friendly and helpful and the food (cooked to order) is to die for! Normally, as a vegetarian, I find it difficult to get good quality meals in a pub - not at the Postgate. My wife and I stayed for 3 nights, dinner b&b, and on each night I was served an excellent, tasty veggie meal.Thank you, Andrew, Matthew and all the staff and regulars at the Postgate for making our short break one to remember.Highly recommended.

A great 'local' dog-friendly pub with friendly staff and an amazing menu! Some might think it a bit pricey but the quality of the food was excellent andthe portions just right. We'll probably be in the area again soon so are very likely to return.
