Very easy to find, central location, we had a twin room which was very spacious and clean. Staff were very welcoming and happy to help, especially in the restaurant. food good, plentyful and hot. The only gripe was, check in was very slow and impersonal. I don't think they even looked at us. Otherwise, a pleasant stay and good value for money.

This is the only hotel I have ever had to produce photo id to check in, making check in crazy long. The hotel has had a bit of a refurb and lick of paint and is far better than the £45 we paid for the night. However my mate being tight booked the cheapest which has no windows, so no ventilation. It was adequate for what we needed and the do a breakfast for under a tenner. 10 min walk to the station. depending on your needs it could be perfect to get your head down for the night.

Good hotel, check in (with ID check) took less than 5 mins and even managed to get checked in early as room was available. Room was large and basic but clean and bed was comfortable. Short walk to the city centre and the Xmas markets. Would book again!

Good location, attended a wrestling event here, not a suited venue. Chairs too close to each other making it very overcrowded. Difficult for small children to see without standing on chairs then blocking other people's view. Also lots of pillars scattered across the room which again restrict your view from many angles. Nice building and interior but not suited for the event which was hosted here

I stayed here for 1 night with a friend due to attending a concert at the AO Arena, we were a little apprehensive due to the reviews but were pleasantly surprised! Check in is slower than usual, but only because they follow their policy and procedures and it was refreshing to have a detailed check in and we felt extremely safe. Staff were very friendly, approachable and made the experience much nicer! The rooms were lovely and clean, lots of space, good facilities and beds are very comfortable! When coming back from the concert the security guard asked us what room number we were in, asked us if we had a good night and couldn’t have been nicer, again, think it’s brilliant they are so on it in regards to security from a safety point of view, being two women in a hotel in a big city this made us feel very at ease. We had the breakfast this morning which was a buffet and no complaints here, everything was to our liking, the restaurant was clean and staff couldn’t have done enough for us!If we come back to Manchester we will definitely be staying here again, was brilliant from start to finish and the location was perfect!Thank you to all for a wonderful stay!

The hotel itself is nice. Needs a little updating in terms of room decor. Staff were incredible, friendly, and very helpful. Great location next to all shops, restaurants, transportation and very close to the train station. Would def recommend as the price is also reasonable for general stays and room upgrades.

I don't usually choose to write reviews, but I would advise not staying here unless you're out of luck. It is definitely not a place to spend a long time in, rest your head at best, but only if you're low on finances. Due to a football game and the Christmas markets, all hotel prices are hiked up. This came in as the cheapest at £75 for one night. One night was definitely more than enough.I came up to stay as I no longer live in Manchester but I am a student at university here and I needed to do some assignments in the library but needed a place to rest my head - I kind of just wish I stayed in the library. The pillow was rock hard, blankets are thin and despite being next to the radiator (which was boiling) I was still cold. The walls are super thin, so I could hear everything. The windows do not block out any noise, either. So when somebody's car alarm went off at 3 AM, I could hear it until I fell asleep. The interior has not been updated since the 80s and the whole place smelt strange. Like smoke, weed and rotten vegetables. Such strange and dingy vibes, I didn't feel very safe there as a young woman travelling alone.Additionally, check in was very slow and they ask for ID which has never happened before. There is a security guard on the door at night who checks your room number and name. I understand he is doing his job but maybe if the place bothered to update its facilities, I wouldn't have been stood out in the cold at 3 AM.Central location for the arndale, NQ and Piccadilly Gardens are all like a two minute walk. So it's about 10 minutes straight down from Piccadilly station - That's the only benefit; how easy it is to leave.Be aware that the entrance is placed down an alley way as well!I paid a ridiculous price for this place, don't go unless you really have to. Please just pay the extra money and stay somewhere else especially if you're coming to Manchester for a trip and a good time. Really would just kill the vibe of your trip.

I wasn't expecting much after all the damning reviews... but I had a perfectly pleasant stay! The room was much bigger than I was expecting, and the windows opened just fine (a common complaint apparently). The place did feel a little dated, but at that price, it was a fair trade-off. The breakfast was plentiful, and the staff were all very polite!

If I could review a stay lower than 1 I would! Tried to check in was promised a different room if upgraded to breakfast. We did so and then we where told the room is no longer available, given a new room which we checked had broken air conditioning. Smelt of smoke as a room as well. Asked to move rooms told could not as now been used. Asked for it to be cleaned could not as no cleaners available (there where cleaners next door) Refused refund (only been in the hotel an hour) so we could leave and sleep somewhere. After I spoke to the manager who called me stupid and just trying to cause a fight. Asked him why the room was such a state and if he would stay there, which his response was “if I had too” , clearly their own manager wouldn’t want to stay here. Saw over 6/7 complaints being made on a Saturday by a range of family’s and couples all just trying to enjoy their weekends. What a disgusting place to do so. Will not be returning.

Finding myself unexpectedly caught short I booked a room around midnight. Check in was quick and easy. The reception staff were pleasant. The room was clean and adequate. The interiors are slightly tired. However this hotel has character. It has a touch of faded glamour. Unfortunately sound isolation is not very good. I could clearly hear some other guests.Overall though I was grateful to Sachas for putting me up comfortably at short notice on a rainy cold night.
