Ordered the vegan roast, was delivered the veggie roast.Despite having a vegan specials night once a week the regular menu is a bit scarce for vegan options with no readily available allergy information.Ordered the vegan roast, they brought out a veggie one, I realised because it had cauliflower cheese on the plate.Asked for it to be changed and it was, very quickly, but these sorts of mistakes should be avoided.

Giant blackboard with a pub in it. Food very average but adequate for the price. Lots of litter on the floor in the garden, nice staff. OK for a quick pint. Confused atmosphere with no real style

For my brother's birthday meal, really disappointed. Usually a good meal.Chips greasy, gammon ham greasy, did complain, only got a bowl of chips deducted of the bill. Over priced, won't be going again.

An unpretentious pub with comfortable ensuite rooms. Very clean. Good breakfasts. Hospitable landlord/owner.

The Old Elm Inn
Several rude staff and owner unbelievably rude and aggressive to many customers not just me!Checking back here 5 months later it appears that some of my review has been deleted! My experience was awful when I defended the rude behaviour of staff and the Publican when six other customers were denied their dessert after spending a huge amount on their meals. There was almost a physical fight with the owner - if he is the owner! They were told that they had run out ot desserts but a waitress had told them the staff and owner/manager were playing in the quiz! They have favourites at this pub. It's dirty - the chairs, the carpets and in general not a nice place to go.The locals don't have much choice in the village as it is the only pub there in the old part of Churchdown.Shocking behaviour...even the teenagers behave with more etiquette!

Felt compelled to write a review after reading some others and having now visited the Old Elm. We aren't local and picked the pub purely on location. The food was delicious and in generous portions. All the good signs were there; proper steak knives, vegetables cooked with bite, an interesting range of vegetables, incredible crackling on the pork roast, plenty of stuff on the walls to look at and every seat was filled. The play area out the back was a bonus, as was the colouring and books made available for children. The ambience was friendly, staff went out of their way to help us. Service was prompt whilst not making us feel rushed, even though they were clearly very busy. The children's meal portion was huge and it was carefully double wrapped in foil when I asked if we could take the leftovers home. Overall, we were all impressed and I would absolutely recommend!

I stumbled across this place by accident, but it's by far one of my favourite pubs to visit in the county. The staff are fab and the food is amazing. If your looking to go here with family, friends or partner then you won't be disappointed.

First visit here with family as we've been told the menu had a good selection of veggie meals and indeed it does. A great venue with friendly and chatty staff and a place where the owners have clearly made an effort to keep the customers entertained and spoiled for choice.Well presented and comfortable venue which has two distinct areas: the calm quiet area for the people looking for a relaxed meal or pint and a chat and the louder area for the groups and customers looking for a more lively atmosphere. The latter is where our group were positioned. The area had a smaller screen showing the football plus there was a second, larger screen further round the bar, better for the sports fans there to see the game. There seemed to be events or special activities planned every night of the week (picture included). There was a play area for kids and little table top toys for very little ones to keep them entertained for 5 minutes. There was a corner piled up with board games too but it was a pity the previous clientele had lost pieces or vandalized the contents with rude drawings ☹.Great selection of ales on offer which was a real plus for me. In addition, CAMRA members get 10% off their beers. Menu was good with a nice choice of meals including kids choices. The food was lovely and good value so felt very satisfied.I think next time we may sit in the quieter area with the kids at that time of day (6pm Saturday), as some of the language of the lads present wasn't very nice unfortunately. But other than that we had a lovely meal and a couple of drinks.Quiz nights, live music nights, etc. The locals always have something to go to which is great. Will likely be visiting again when in the area again.

Had the pleasure of stopping at the Elm for 4 nights, comfortable bed, great shower and spotlessly clean. Our host was lovely and cooked a very tasty breakfast. We hope we can visit again.
