Rotherham mental health services has delivered a consistently poor service for as long as I remember. It doesn’t set to change anytime soon. You get put on a waiting list to receive unhelpful treatment. If any researcher is wanting to understand why the suicide rates are so high for Rotherham, and Rotherham in particular is at a record high then take a look at the not fit for purpose mental health services.

Still waiting on someone phoning me back from 2+weeks ago. Have witnessed staff intimidating patients, one turned out to be my therapist... great introduction. Liars, leave work early without cancelling the appointments with patients first and leave patients to find out after they waste time and money coming to the appointment that wont be happening. I was left for 2 years with inappropriate therapy so by time it came to my EMDR, too much time had passed and too many things had happened for them to consider it effective. Been criticised by staff for my memory problems which is part of my health conditions so feel very discriminated against and a snotty apology was expected to be enough. Refuse to phone me back about the discrimination I suffered. Apparently discharging me means they dont have to face the discrimination i faced. Convenient. Worst mental health team ever. Making patients worse. Suicide rates are on these idiots and their inability to do their job properly.

My first experience here was negative but after persisting I've developed a good relationship with majority of people I've seen here. I received a diagnosis from a psychiatrist who specialises in my disorder, attended very informative group therapies and even had one to one support in my interview with a PIP assessor. My only gripe is the first appointment I had here and the occasional lack of available duty workers towards 5pm but the latter I can forgive and the former has surprised other staff I've mentioned it to so hopefully how I was treated then wasn't the norm. I'm glad to be under the care of Ferham Clinic now

Sadie, the main consultant is vile! My first appointment she was towering over my, shouting at me! My prescriptions are always days late. When I call and explain they wind me up, then send me letters threatening to withdraw treatment! They also discuss my treatment with other patients in the waiting room! Disgusting staff!

Tired of this place trying to get to see a psychiatrist on a regular basis to get a diagnosis seems to be an impossibility seems that will only happen if you are put in Swallownest hospital where a psychiatrist can see you on a regular basis otherwise you have no chance of getting a real investigation done or a real diagnosis. This mental health service is reactive at best they are not proactive so you will not get any real help. The staff thinks everyone are malingerers it makes it so much easier for them to not really help anyone. GOOD LUCK if you ever have to deal with this service you will need it.I just need to add to this post I have paid for my partner to see a psychiatrists privately and they diagnosed her with four different mental illnesses something the the mental health services here in Rotherham failed to do after having the past ten years to do so. I will of course be making a complaints after having been through P.A.L.S already which was pointless. Just to add on to this a little more when I tried to make a complaint to the patient safety and investigation team at RDASH my numerous voicemails (because thy do not answer phone) and emails have been ignored. So i have tried to report it to the NHS ombudsman and he said nothing they can do they investigate themselves guess nothing cam be done then disgusting.

They don’t listen to you and simply want you off of the system and out of their hands, complete waste of time. Dehumanising and insensitive, I’ve had more meaningful conversations with homeless people than I have with these licensed medical professionals. My advice if your given the opportunity to get a diagnosis here is to refuse it on the grounds that they are incompetent and you do not have faith in their system. I honestly wish I had never even gone

I am currently a patient at this so called 'mental health team'. I have two different personality disorders which I have only recently been diagnosed with. They left me under their care for 2 years before I got to see a psychiatrist, they left me knowing that I was struggling with self harm and suicide. I was diagnosed in January 2019 and by March 2019 they STILL had NOT decided on my medication so I was left over 2 months without any medication. It is almost 6 months later and they STILL CANNOT decide on a treatment method for me because I have 2 conflicting personality disorders and each team have said that I am not right for them and their treatment. It's bad enough struggling with your mental health but then the people who are meant to help you are saying they can't. I can honestly say this team have made me seriously ill, I have had suicide attempts and self harm issues along with serious psychological damage because of there 'care'. I am at a point where I am debating going to the papers as I have followed the NHS procedures of speaking to PALs but conveniently no one rings you back.

I would like to say a massive thank you to the consultant and staff members at this clinic. From my initial diagnosis till date they have supported me by sending my medication to the pharmacy (sometimes at short notice) - and during the festive period ,rescheduling appointments where they haven't fit with my commitments and generally being available to speak to. I have called to ask for some documentation as evidence to support my condition and the lady immediately printed the documents to send them off/ rearranged my appointment. You have had a massive impact on the quality of my life and for that I am extremely grateful

I've been under their care for a year. I've yet to see psychiatrist, yet they were happy enough to prescribe me a very high dose of an antidepressant that I need constant monitoring on as it can cause abnormalities in your heart. I've only just had an ECG for this because my GP sent me for one. I'm also on another antidepressant so I need monitoring to ensure I don't develop serotonin syndrome. They should have on my file that I cannot tell over the phone, yet they constantly phone me and refuse to speak to my mum who I've said can speak on my behalf multiple times. They have no duty of care what so ever. I'm lucky enough to be receiving psychotherapy and my therapist for that is lovely and does care. But the rest of the staff couldn't give a flying toss about you and will happily point the blame at you rather than admitting their faults. Its an absolute joke of a place.

when you answer the phone you absolutely shouldn’t just say “hi” or “hello” when you’re a professional service?? and you shouldn’t wait for the other person to talk first either when the holding track sounds like someone picking up anyway, you can’t tell whether someone actually has this time or not. there should be some mention of what service you’ve called when answering, whether that’s the automated message mentioning Ferham Clinic or the receptionist. super easy fix. i’ve had a job answering phones myself too, so i know the struggle which is why i didn’t care at all the first time it happened.first call they waited for me to talk first and then said “hello???” then put the phone down. that can be very confusing - especially for people with anxiety/learning disabilities like you have accessing your system. i had no idea if i had the right number or what to say to “hello” incase i did have the wrong number or had rang the wrong team.no one was rude or anything just shouldn’t happen really:)also took quite a few calls to get through.
