Merchiston Pharmacy

Having just read through the previous reviews I notice that there are some rather scathing comments. None of us are perfect but I have always found from my own experiences that they provide an excellent service and are always very friendly. I usually have to wait a little while but I do not have a problem with this as they are always busy but still have the time to make you feel welcome.

I always get my persciptions from here, Rachel is polite and helpful along with other members of staff. The opening hours suit my work schedule and if I need any advice, or if feeling unwell rather than wait for a doctors appointment, I ask the pharmacists as they are very knowledgeable.

I've now used this pharmacy three times and had excellent service each time. The staff are friendly and professional. So different from the previous ones.

Jemma has always been more than helpful, and so kind to everyone.The service you receive here is always exceptional.

The staff is always very polite, attentive and helpful. The surgery made a mistake with the prescription and the pharmacy noticed it and resolved it promptly. I received the phone when my missing medication was ready to collect.

Staff are always welcoming and a great laugh, ordered my prescription through pod and as expected my prescription was ready and waiting for me. They are brilliant with little kids waiting with parents there happily interact with them and play games to pass the few minuets of waiting. Sorry to all the rest of the staff but my kids say Gemma is their favourite because she sometimes has cookies!

Merchiston Pharmacy (now independent) offer a friendly service, Gemma and Rebecca and team run the pharmacy efficiently, add a welcome to the customers, know the regulars and deal with the demands of day to day enquiries effectively

This pharmacy went above and beyond for me today. My prescription was prescribed incorrectly by the doctor. 1 salbutamol inhaler turned into another salamol inhaler, which I only realised when I had got home (I had informed the Doctor it just wasn't working and making me dizzy and shakey, after he prescribed the exact same one the week before.) The doctor failed to specify ventolin on the prescription, and after 2 weeks of not being able to breathe properly - this was the very last thing I needed.Due to the doctors error I would have to pay for another prescription charge - Rachel went above and beyond to get it resolved for me. I spent 2 hours walking between the surgery and the pharmacy. Not only did Rachel explain why it had happened, she spoke with the pharmacist and they organised for the much needed ventolin inhaler to be ready for me at no charge by the time they closed. I was told by the surgery to formally complain by email. I did, and I am still waiting for a reply. Asthma is no joke. Asthma after covid is even less funny. Thank you Rachel and the team. My lungs applaud you.
