Excellent all round, service, price and quality. As a visitor to the area, called for 'tea' and was not disappointed. The prices are very reasonable and a good size: over faced with a starter and a main which is not the norm for us. A smallish menu but a good selection to pick from. The salad appeared freshly prepared and full of variety, the coleslaw home made and the steak and ale pie would have fed 3 of us at home! Staff were lovely, tables quickly served and cleared. Super pub, not 'posh' as is often the case these days, food.

A lovely pub meal with quick service, the food was piping hot, and the portions were generous. The steak in the steak and ale pie actually melted in my mouth and the pastry was perfect. Will definitely be returning when I'm in the area.

Polite and friendly staff. Good quality food a big portion size. Good value for money too. Would recommend.4 adults and 3 children was £100 including drinks and shared starter.

Niiiiice grub!Spinach and ricotta cannelloni with garlic bread and salad. I absolutely loved it! Clean plate. Hubby had steak and ale pie. Tasty but a couple bits of steak were a bit overdone and dry.Staff were very friendly, helpful and patient. Two dinners, one side and two pints were just over £30.Would definitely recommend. Thank you!

We make a point come here every time we visit Penrith. We love it. Good menu, huge portions of great grub, sensible pricing, dog friendly, chatty locals, comfortable furnishings and they have a few TVs on if you follow sport. A really easy place to come eat, any time of day.
