Gemma Hodson - Dynamic Dog Practitioner Course Tutor

I have been working with Gemma now for over two months, after signing up for one course, I couldn't wait to sign up for the second. Her knowledge and expertise in canine physiology and pain related behaviour is second to none. She is engaging, encouraging and full of energy and I couldn't recommend her as a course tutor or a behaviour practitioner highly enough.

In the relatively short amount of time I have known Gemma from All About the Dog -Therapy and had opportunity to observe her work first hand, I have been highly impressed by her level of professionalism, knowledge and natural affinity with dogs. She has a calm reassuring manner which puts any dog and their owner immediately at ease. In employing the services of Gemma rest assured you will always be in experienced safe hands.

Gemma is an amazing teacher and very knowledgeable on all things 'hound'. I have completed 2 courses with her after finding out about her courses via Sarah Fisher at Animal Centred Education (ACE). My dogs thank her for it. They are better off for me have done the courses and so am I. I highly recommend 'ACE Jump Start' with Gemma for pet dog owners that want to find out why certain behaviours are occuring in their dog. 'From the Hound Up' is more intensive over 8 weeks, everything just clicks during this course. The interaction and help via dedicated fb groups is really above and beyond and you can also learn from all the other participants and their beautiful dogs. 'See it, say it', thank you Gemma, I'm looking forward to stepping it up with 'Dynamic Dog'!

Gemma is a rock star! She has such a rare depth of knowledge on how to observe the dog that can uncover the subtleties of health issues they may be dealing with. To add to that super power, she is excellent in teaching this to others so they can advocate for dogs as well. Gemma’s influence will be felt far and wide to the benefit of the dogs and their people!

I signed up for this course after hearing Gemma speak at Tilley Farm in 2019. Anatomy has always been of interest to me but I was a little apprehensive as online courses aren't really my thing & I also thought I might be out of my depth.Gemma is an amazing tutor, full of encouragement & so helpful. Her enthusiasm, knowledge & expertise & her ability to explain everything clearly is amazing. Thank you Gemma I have loved every minute!

Gemma has worked with both of my dogs in helping with relaxation and focus. She works at the dogs pace and is always aware of any signals the dog in giving in terms of body language. Very knowledgeable and happy to share this with those willing to listen

Gemma is amazing!She is so kind and caring, you can tell she LOVES her job and shes really great at it.I am currently doing Gemmas 'From the hound up' online workshop and i can say without a doubt thats its the best workshop i have ever been to/ or not been to as its online. I am a dog behaviourist and met Gemma on a course with Chirag Patel and he asked her to share her knowledge regarding movement and pain in dogs. Her talk was incredible and I knew I needed to collaborate with her with some of my own clients.I often work with dogs that I can tell there is something pain related going on but can’t pinpoint it myself. The clients get them to vets they have them checked over often numerous times and give them a clean bill of health. It’s always difficult for the vets as they often only see them on the table and the dogs are generally so full of fear/adrenalin because of the visit they are not presenting with any pain response.I have used her on a number of occasions now and she has the most amazing eye for pinpointing exactly where the dog has pain. Gemma gets the clients to provide a number of different videos and analyses every one which enables her to identify accurately where the problem area is on the dog, by reviewing its movement and doing an extensive information gathering session via zoom which is perfect for dogs so they do not have to keep going through the trauma of the vet visit. She then provides a report to the clients vet for them to review. The most recent one of my clients dogs she access had a patella luxation which was really unstable and is now booked in for corrective surgery and it was a really difficult spot the dog was not presenting any obvious signs of pain at all and it was only from one of the specific videos Gemma requested, you could just about spot that he was lifting the troubling leg up and it was only when he was going down stairs that he did it he went so fast that you missed it in real life.Gemma is the missing piece of the puzzle for all behaviourists, she keeps you included in the whole process with the client and sitting in the zoom calls whilst she does her assessment allows you to give your input and also learn so much. She is truly invaluable and I recommend her highly!
