Alba Hills Guest House

A very decent man I would recommend

I really recommend the Alba Hills guest house, first of all for the kindness and generosity of the owner.I asked a small room first of all and they gave me a big room, everything is clean and you feel like at home :)

The owner was superbly nice, the breakfast was tasty and the rooms were clean, big and cosy.

Typical British guest house with a very friendly and helpful landlord family. No luxury but everything is fine. The busstation is close and the wonderful city not far away. My favourit accommodation in Edinburgh.

Nice and comfortable. A quiet place to stay

Reserved a king size beds, got 2 twins pushed together, proprietor told us that's how Scots do king size. Bathroom was built into a closet, not the 4 star thy advertise. Not dirty but Grimley, big disappointment, paid for one night but never stayed, worth the142 pounds just to get out.

Superb , lovely host clean and tidy

Excellent place to stay in Edinburgh!! The owner Mr Bulbul was very friendly and helpful!! I'm staying in the single room with external private bathroom (it's a bit inconvenience cause bathroom was outside the room),but it doesn't matter!! The guest house provide breakfast with so many choices like bread,cheese,cereal,yogurt,fruits, coffee,tea,juice and milk! So many variety!! It is about 15-30 minutes walk to the city centre, bus station just located outside the guest house(around 2-3 minutes walk if you alight at Mayfield Garden), if you going to the city centre, can just purchase the DayTicket(£4) or Single Ticket (£1.7), just board the bus across the street(East Savile Road stop) and there you go to the city centre! If you are coming from the airport, just buy bus ticket at the airport and board Airlink300,the journey will take around 1hour+, and just alight at Mayfield Garden. The only downside will be there is no lift in the guest house and all the rooms are located at second and third floor, be prepare to do some exercise to lift your luggage up! I will definitely come back to stay here if I visit Edinburgh again, thank you Mr Bulbul for the hospitality!

Been there 3 times now. And surely not the last time. Comfy rooms and beds. Most with own shower. And super friendly staff.
