We’ve had the most wonderful week at Stargazy: refreshing early morning swims, surfing/boarding, coastal walks, enjoying amazing views from the deck, terrace and bbq and re-visiting our favourite foodie places! Super-comfortable beds - Paul kindly sorted non-feather bedding to allow for family allergies. Great showers and a well equipped kitchen. A generous welcome pack on arrival was a lovely surprise and the terrace bar was a wonderful touch! We would love to return. Thank you Paul!!

This house the steppes at Dartmouth is the most beautiful holiday home I have ever been to. I don't travel abroad so i tend to look for nice places in England. I saw this house and I just wanted to be there. I treated my family for this holiday in memory of our late parents who loved Dartmouth. It exceeded every expectation and was truly wonderful. Thank you for letting us experience this beautiful home.

We had a wonderful stay, a perfect house for a family get together with plenty of space to not feel on top of one another. Gardens were a great bonus to explore.Great location and easy to get to nearby beaches.We look forward to returning

The most wonderful apartment for a couple in the wonderful town Totnes. Had everything you need and really comfortable. Just around the corner are the bars, restaurants, and the high street, as well as the bus to take you up river to Buckfastleigh or down river to Dartmouth.

We booked Higher Venice to have a family birthday celebration as it was really special to have a rapidly expanded family sleep under one roof, share garden adventures and bedtime stories. The home is in an idyllic rural setting, so come prepared with all your groceries, and from the minute you walk in it has that old charm comfort. It is spacious and well stocked and we all found the beds very comfy. Perfect location for a family or small group celebration. The garden is a joy and there is a lovely walk down to Tuckenhey Village where there is a riverside pub (best at high tide). Our hosts were prompt with any queries and we will definitely go again.

Enjoyed stay at Paul's place, close to Fremington Quay for access to Tarka trail.Everything you need for 2 people stay few nights, clean and as described.Ample parking, close shop and pub.Quiet green outlook.

I would've given 5 stars for Stargazy (Bigbury on sea) if the standard had matched the premium cost for our 8 nights stay. The cleaning fee is £450 yet we walked in to a manky oven, dirty floors in my en-suite, loose lino, dirty rusty shades, unpainted pipes, towels that didn't dry you, thick soap scum round shower heads, no shower door in the bathroom. We were told after I reported the door that it had been damaged 2 weeks prior but we weren't informed ahead of our arrival, so we had to mop up the water after every shower and constantly having to wash towels. A shower curtain and sharp knives came days later, no one to clean our oven as promised. I was told that no one had reported the shower door to date but read a review from May saying there was no shower door then.The location of this beach house is amazing and the outdoor space including your own bar but our stay was let down by these issues.£300 out of £5,595 total cost was refunded back to us.Sadly Paul's response to this review is basically saying our complaints don't match others reviews but 3 households can't be wrong!! The shower door scenario were just poor excuses for not having this fixed for the next guests.Stargazy website only show their best reviews after asking us for a rating/feedback, it's not appearing.This is fair and honest feedback. This place was stunning! Felt right at home from the moment we walked in. The attention to detail was what I felt was the winner especially after a very long stressful drive: tea bags, coffee, a bottle of wine, and cookies on the side, milk in the fridge, leaflets and books of things to see and do in the area, ice in the freezer! Even safety certificates and equipment manuals in the guest book. And that was just downstairs. Absolutely incredible and the hosts were super helpful and welcoming always. 12 out of 10!!!

Spent 8 nights from 25th July and was shocked at the standard of beach house , dirty oven dirty floors behind toilet stained mattress dirty shower heads and shower door missing, very musty smell in bedroom and drawers couldn’t be used as they were musty and clothes had to be removed. Dishwasher was filthy at each side. Overall at £5,595 total cost including £450 cleaning fee I was angry and disappointed. Paul the host for Stargazy Bigbury on sea said maintenance was to be carried out in the autumn when less busy however maintenance should be carried out throughout the year. We are three separate households leaving honest reviews, Stargazy direct site are not showing our feedback and only showing the most recent good ones. Photos to follow.

Our first family holiday with our 11 month son. The place was perfect for him to roam around with lots of outside space and we brought our own travel cot and highchair. We had such a special time. A great location with lovely views, lovely and clean on arrival and lovely hosts. We will definitely be coming back!
