Speech Right

When we were first told our 2 year old needed speech therapy it was very daunting, and with a long NHS waiting list we wanted to find someone who could help. From the moment I spoke to Emma I felt reassured, she is professional and friendly, and clearly very knowledgeable.Emma has helped us so much with our son, his communication has improved drastically and Emma has supported us at every step.We would highly recommend Emma and Speech Right.

Emma was our son's SLT while she was still working for NHS. After having quite a few SLT working on my son since he was 3 years old, we have noticed straight away how good she was. Our son is now 7 years old and he caught up with his language skill. I would highly recommend Emma if your child is in need of the right push to start his speech. My son had no language (not even mum and dad) and could only made sound at age of 5 years old when he met Emma and see where he is now thanks to Emma!!

We first got in touch with Emma when our, then 21 month old daughter, wasn’t developing speech or communicating with us much at all. Emma came to our home and assessed our daughter as having a social communication disorder. We’ve been seeing Emma for the last 6 months and our daughter now seeks us out for interaction, she is using more gestures to request, she’s taking us to show us what she wants and she’s actually saying some words! Emma really cares about our baby and after every session we have a clear plan with goals set that we want to achieve in communication, so far we have met them all and that’s such a wonderful feeling. Honestly if you want to start helping your child then don’t hesitate to contact Emma, it was the best decision we’ve made for our daughters welfare so far.

We turned to Speech right when our son was 3yo. Our son is on the autism spectrum, he could speak and sing but at the age of 3 he didn't use any language to communicate. We couldn't recommend Emma and Speech Right enough. Emma has shown us step by step everything we need to know about SLT strategies and how incorporate them very easily in our daily life. Emma thought us how to use PECS and this was a game changer for our family. We have received extremely valuable advice whenever we asked for it and we have had the support we needed every step of the way. I couldn't be more thankful to Emma and Speech right for all the help and support they have provided to us. They will always be the place we turn to for further help and advice.

Emma is the best in the business and the difference we have seen in our son since working with her is remarkable . Emma feels like part of our family and go to for help and advice. The support she gives is amazing and really helps.

The Team and Emma at Speechright have been incredible for my daughter. From writing the correct report to secure funding on an EHC plan to the monthly support for my daughter complex speech delay and supporting on EHC review meeting, all this support has been invaluable . Emma has always a very organised and result driven approach, reporting on each session, measurement in place to see progress. More importantly my daughter has made leaps of progress and is able to focus on her session thanks to play based therapy to make her complete what she needs.Thank you so much Emma we couldn’t do it without you.

Our son, has had severe glue ear since birth. Unfortunately his hearing loss wasn't picked up until he was 2 and a half, after an NHS assessment indicated he needed speech therapy we waited a year on the NHS waiting list. He was rapidly approaching school age, and so I made the decision to search out an experienced private speech therapist and found Emma. We spoke at length initially, and I was reassured to hear that Emma had many years of NHS experience as well as private. She was also able to offer a full comprehensive initial assessment, and then weekly sessions actually in his class at school. this made an incredible difference, as he was alert, in the 'learning mode' but also the teaching assistant learnt from Emma key skills to continue the therapy daily just for 5-10 minutes. My son was struggling with behaviour (as he was not being understood and so got frustrated), phonics, reading and writing. With the help of Emma he has within the space of 2 years caught up with his peers and has developed confidence. I can't recommend Emma enough and would advise anyone seeking a private speech therapist to chat first, and ensure they have a good few years experience behind them.

Emma made the sessions so enjoyable that our son was always looking forward to them. Our son’s speech improved very quickly. We wish we had met Emma earlier! We would strongly recommend her to anyone that needs help with speech.

My son had difficulties with his speech sounds. He was producing lengthy sentences but we could not workout what he was saying! We got in contact with Speech Right and were offered an initial assessment quickly. We were given lots of information about speech sound development which showed what we did/did not need to be worried about. We were then offered therapy to help our son. The sessions were lots of fun - he loved Emma's visits and all the games/toys she brought! Emma showed us what we needed to do to help our son's sounds develop and we are now able to understand everything he says. I cannot recommend this service enough - being able to communicate clearly is such a vital skill.

I cannot recommend Emma at Speechright more highly. When we entered lockdown, I was worried that my son would not get the speech therapy he needed, but Emma's online therapy sessions via Zoom have been ideal. My son is fully engaged during the sessions and is making excellent progress with his speech. He doesn't even realise that he's having speech therapy and just thinks he's playing fun games with Emma.
