Nice curry but extraordinarily expensive!£4 for pilau rice, £3.90 for naan, £2.90 for chips!!! =£16 for takeaway curry, rice & chips for 1 person!! Check prices of the side dishes.

My go to chippy in Newport. Out of the ones we have tried the chicken breast is the best around, crispy skin and chicken cooked just right. Chips are always excellent and the fish always cooked just right. Generous portions always provided. Can't fault it in all visits we've had.

Reviews was taken down cause the food ordered wasn't to standard said I would complain to trading standards chicken madras with no chickenAdding extra content almost 3 hrs since ordering food still no food has arrived since I complained to replacing the mistake

Order came half hour late and was missing parts of the order. Phoned up to explain and was told that we would be charged extra for the parts that were missing even though we asked for them when ordering, will have to pay another delivery charge and wait another hour which would probably be another hour and a half. Will not be ordering from here again as it's not the 1st time they've messed up our order and are consistently late.

We have same main every time and it's always consistent, always hot and tasty. Tried their chicken chaat, fantastic flavours, will be having that again. Always a warm friendly service from phoning order to collection.

Ordered here after ten years because the rail way changed hands ,WOW was like going back in time , metal dishes , great food , only thing missing was the old style chips, roast potatoes

I have been sporadically enjoying The Handpost Tandoori since I moved to Newport about 15 years ago. I hadn't ordered in a while, though, when I decided I just needed their food last night. I called up (I'm vegan and regularly ask places to amend dishes for me but have had bad experiences elsewhere so have to regularly recheck if they can help) and the person I spoke to was very knowledgeable about both veganism and their ingredients and made alternative suggestions where required. This put me totally at ease so I happily ordered. So glad I did! I had forgotten how good their food is. I will become a regular again. Already can't wait til I can sneak in another order...
